Deon Jackson - His greatest recording on Solid Smoke.

Ive got this LP and if you havent got one I strongly recommend it.

Every track on there is superb , not one filler on either side. Did he ever make a bad record?

Seriously though, I used to have "Stars" by Barbara Lewis - really nice LP - all the tracks were great. Don't actually know what happened to it, think the ex sold it on a carboot yes.gif

Marvin's Whats going on and Lets get it on are my all time faves , ones I can play all the way through are: Chris Bartley Sweetest thing this side of heaven [Vando ] Artistics I'm gonna miss you [brunswick ] Wiliams and Watson Two for the price of one , The Lovelites [uni ] , James Carr A man needs a woman and You've got my mind messed up [ Goldwax ] , Mancha and Barnes Rare Stamps , The Detroit Spinners [Tamla Motown ] and their first for Atlantic includes Ghetto Child ,One Of a A Kind , etc , The 4 Tops first 2 albums for Motown , The Temps ,Temptin' Temps ,Gettin' Ready and With a Lot Of Soul which are all superb . Best ,Eddie .

Not really an album collector, but 'Big Wheels of Motown' will always hold special affection as its the album that turned me onto this music.

Also Capital Soul Casino, the first Northern album I heard or bought.

And as Pete can pick some non soul ones

Just found some Lp's under all the rubble in the front room...Garland Green "Jealous Kinda Fella", Ann Peebles "If This Is Heaven" and The Righteous Brothers "Souled Out" amongst them :shades:
