I have just recently got back on the northern soul scene after a 7 year absence.

And only been a member of this site a few weeks.

What i wanted help with,is if somebody can suggest a couple of venues where i can hear some of the 30 titles i have listed below.

These are only examples, and i dont expect even all of them are played now.

Something in a similar sounding vein would do,as long as they are danceable.

I have been to a few oldies venues and met a lot of old friends, and made a few new ones as well.

But just for a change i would like to hear something a bit different now and again.

This is not a WIND UP i have really lost touch with the scene but not the music.

I love oldies,Rnb,Modern Soul and mid tempo sounds + some crossover.

I listen to all that here at home,i just want to go out and dance to either something i have not heard for many years plus a FEW newies with the same danceable sound.

I live in Greater Manchester but i dont drive, but i am willing to travel anywhere and even stop overnight in a hotel if the venue is what i am looking for.

All the titles listed below i have heard at least once at one venue or another since the 70s.

I have no idea if they are 5 quid records or 5000 pound records.

Well here goes.

1 - Barbara West - Congratulations Baby

2 - Bernard Williams - It's Needless To Say

3 - Big Maybelle - Quittin' Time

4 - Bobby Lester - Hang Up Your Hang Ups

5 - C.O.D.s - I'm A Good Guy

6 - Cajun Heart - Got To Find A Way

7 - Cindy Lynn & The In Sounds - Meet Me At Midnight

8 - Clay Hunt - In The City Square

9 - Connie Questel - Give Up Girl

10 - DC Blossoms - Hey Boy

11 - Del Counts - With Another Guy

12 - Dorothy Parker - Shindig City

13 - Drapers - I Know Your Love Has Gone Away

14 - Edie Walker - Good Guys

15 - Emanuel Laskey - Don't Lead Me On

16 - Embers - Just Crazy About You Baby

17 - Eugene Jefferson - Pretty Girl Dressed In Brown

18 - Magnetics - Lady In Green

19 - Marie Knight - You Lie So Well

20 - Pat Powdrill & the Powerdrills - Together Forever

21 - Patti LaBelle & The Bluebelles - Loving Rules

22 - Persianettes - Call On Me

23 - Promatics - Sugar Pie Honey

24 - Prophets - Talk Dont Bother Me

25 - Showmen - The Wrong Girl

26 - Squires - Don't Accuse Me

27 - Tee Fletcher - Happy Loving You

28 - Village Sounds - These Windows

29 - Vivian Reed - The Shape of Things To Come

30 - Young Brothers - What's Your Game

Like i said these are an example off the top of my head, there are dozens more, that have been played i could have listed, but i don't think Mike would have appreciated me taking up so much room.

Many Thanks in advance to anybody that replies with something constructive.
