Kev Moore Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Hi I came across this lovely beat ballad the other day Joe Hinton 'Don't tell her the truth' The only info I've got at the moment is a release on Abc dunhill 1973 Duke/Peacock oldies. Did this get an earlier release/album track? If anyone has a copy for sale I'd be interested. Please Pm me. Thanks Kev
Harrogatesoul Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 (edited) From the LP below: Joe Hinton LP Looks like a retrospective LP issued by them in 73 and thus a 45 also in the same 'remembers series? Pretty sure it wasn't a Back beat release on 45 and was his only LP 'Funny How Time Slips Away'. If so wasn't on that either. Also made a Goldmine CD Beat Ballad Heaven. Might be some more info in the liner notes. Edited May 22, 2010 by harrogatesoul

Guest Perry Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Many thanks for the information. Anyone got a spare 45 issue at a reasonable price? Best Kev picked the album up at a record fair last Saturday for £2!. Also contains the brilliant "Got you on my mind", which to me sounds a better and clearer take than the 45.
Windlesoul Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 (edited) Agree fab LP, even if a retrospective. 'Truth' is a Paul Anka penned tune. Lp called 'Duke remembers...' got one for sale at £30 if anybody's interested, see LP section on the website, Mark https://thesoulfulpenguin.webs.com/ Edited May 22, 2010 by mark w.
