Without individually valuing each and every record, is there some kind of rule of thumb method that can be used as a shortcut, say for insurance purposes, or just to estimate total value.

I mean, would it be feasible to say that out of 8000 records, 1000 could be valued at an average of £50 each, whilst the rest could be valued at an average of say £20 each. Or is that too simplistic? I suppose it depends on the collectability of the collection.

Anyhow, any thoughts? Who's going to kick start the conversation? Pete?

What about if you had 5 recs worth 200 quid each in there, thats a grand where at 50 each that would only add up to 250quid... 750 out..

maybe you need to put in piles 10 - 50 / 50 - 100/ and so on... then add them up

No shortcuts stop trying to be lazy  . Depends what you've bought.

For northern / xover/ 70s - half book price.

Deep funk - 20% of book price

For 12s - zero unless known collectibles. Use for starting a bonfire.

CD's £1 each cos that's all you'll get.

Yeah, piles, after spending much of the weekend trying to find the afore mentioned wiring diagram. angry.gifangry.gif

It's gonna take longer than I expected, now that you've finally got round to reminding me, as my room needs a good tidying up to find 'anything' in there these days. sad.gif
