Diggin' Dave Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 I'm talking about the label that has B.W. Souls and Faye Ross as most common releases. Other ones on the label pop up every once in a while, but I've never seen a label discography anywhere. Anyone have one? If not I'm sure we can join forces and make one!

Diggin' Dave Posted May 3, 2010 Author Posted May 3, 2010 Whoa thanks! Curious to hear some of these tunes, so I'll better start hunting then:) Do you know whether the missing numbers were never released or unknown? I'm guessing they just skipped a few numbers but thought I'd ask anyway...

I don't think the dick whittington's cats round is the same round label as in the listings, I think it's detroit and the BW Souls round is LA. The numbers don't line up either. Anyone feel free to correct me though.

Roger did not know about or have any relationship with the other Round label(s). https://www.buckeyebeat.com/round.html Oops, just realized the date for the Symon Grace record is wrong, from 1967 not 1970! - George
Ady Croasdell Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 You're talking about the Round label Kent harris was involved with, I'll try and stick one up later. Ady
Ady Croasdell Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 (edited) The R&B Indies book reckons it was Mel Alexander's label though I saw no evidence of this when I worked on Kris, perhaps Mike Veigh can enlighten us. The Roscoe Weathers, Faye Ross and B W Souls are all on similar labels, I've not had many of the others. There's a Vel Vettes listed from the late 60s which would be good to hear. The Roscoe Weathers is the first I recognise. There's gospel in there too. Thanks to Peter Gibbon for this listing. round.rtf Edited May 4, 2010 by ady croasdell

George G Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 Thanks for the clarification. Do you know if this Dick Whittingham is the same guy as on paramount by the way? Thanks. Do you mean the Richard Whittington Adventure on Paramount? it's the same guy - also Dick Whittington on Philips (straight garage-folk/rock). He also played on some of the Bocky and Visions records. - George
