If it wasn't a hit, who knows. I love it. Bought the LP on release, and played it to death, all tracks great. P

Guest meddlinwivmodern Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 Thanks, About 5 years ago I went through a stage of collecting 12" stuff, I was told if I could find a UK 12" it would be about £150 ! may not be the case now though, anyone know ?

DEMO on 7" is Extremely hard to find
Kris Holmes Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 i remember kind of liking the flip to the stock copy of this 45 actually.
Chalky Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Can I add that viewing on iPhone when you put the record title etc in the topic description we don't know what you are talking about. Can you add it to your initial post as well?
Guest son of stan Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Been collecting soul /disco 12"s for donkeys years. I'd imagine there was a limited disco cut dished out to djs etc in the US...But I've never seen a UK 12" of this, demo or otherwise. Does it exist? Possibly slightly too early for the era when this sort of material was routinely issued on 12"..?

funkyfeet Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 i remember kind of liking the flip to the stock copy of this 45 actually. Both sides played in the Casino, the flip side "I KNOW" is out and out northern, if played today people would be asking what it was.
Sean Hampsey Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Hi Miff I would have been Interested, but have just found a copy following years of searching. DEMO on 7" is Extremely hard to find True Roger, I got a DEMO in a job lot, only last week (a nice surprise) but never had my mitts on one before! The flipside of the issue (mentioned above) "I Know" was always tipped as a future 'Northern' sound BITD. Wonder if the scene is ready for it yet . And as an aside, the 'Young Hearts' album also features "You Bet Your Sweet Love" an old Rod Dearlove 'Soul Essence' spin from 10+ years ago - still sounds superb! On a 'future monster' tip, watch out for the previously unissued Candi Staton FAME track "One More Hurt" which I'm hammering to all and sundry. Another Ace / Kent find that's destined to go on to be a classic! Takes some beating, Candi, in the vocal stakes. The voice of an angel. Sean

Yeah that's the one, I did used to play it out a bit. No longer own a copy though since I came to the realization that Candi Staton on Fame is the only stuff of hers I really need to keep. That unreleased track mentioned above has got my interest....

Sean Another Candi Staton tip for the top is her superb duet with producer Dave Crawford of "I'm Gonna Make You Love Me" off her 1978 House of Love LP. Modern soul heaven.
