Might be in wrong section but couldn't resist the silly pun.

Was in my local B&Q tonight. Years have programmed my brain to be on the lookout for something to hold 7", or a couple of 7"s alongside each other.

Saw this box on the shelve. It would be no good at all for travelling but thought it may be ok for home storage. Not that well built, crappy little ribbon hinge on lid, metal hinges joining lid to box are cheap, handles won't be much use when full, but for all that thought it was quite neat for under £10.

Just thought it worth a public service to give it a shout out on here.

Doh, thought I'd found something new on the market, not noticed them before. Must be a bit behind around mansfield, they were shelved between the cat-gut and horse shoes!

I should check online first, only one store in the west midlands has them and thats in birmingham so out of about 20 stores near me, 19 don't have them!

Got mine from Sainsburys a couple of years ago, and have seen tham in Tescos, they dont have them in all the time just every now and then,you also see them in them shops that sell interiour desingn stuff, cushions and mirrors etc, that your missis drags you around, always get one when i see them, usallaly between £10 & £20 thumbsup.gif

I still have my converted Bottle Beer Crete that is the perfic size for 250 45s that I used to take to the CASINO and the one that is featured on the Granada ENGLAND this ENGLAND RED BOX.....But my rarest Box was given to me by Mick Smith it belonged to BIG CLIVE EVERETT and it was the box they took to the TORCH & the MECCA, and is lined with the MINIT LP 33 1/3 Sleeve..So theirs history with my BOXES are they worth anything I wonder??

Another tip, put a bit of cardboard between the last record and the back of the box so that the lid doesn't trap the record thumbsup.gif

Phone the store first to make sure they have them then go on line and reserve them thru the "reserve and collect" system. Also, wait until the weekend because its 15% off when you spend £50 or more between Friday and Monday....

ive been using these for about 5 years now. i think if i remember i got mine from HOMEBASE for £10 each, don't know if they still stock them, maybe worth looking on the web.
