Just a hypothetical question, but, say you ran a Soul Nite, quite successfully, and you asked a guy from another venue to DJ for you. Ok so far? Good. Now suppose the guy you asked to DJ then goes to the management, and suggests they get rid of you, and give him the venue instead. Question. would you-

A/ Be annoyed.

B/ Do nothing, it's a fair world.

C/ Punch his lights out.

D/ Name and shame.

E/ Give up.

opinions please!

Sort of happened to me not as a dj but running a room at an event...new dj came in offered to buy the room from promoters and run it as an entity, didn't happen but if it had id have said fuck ya venue, but then it was not me paying, and if it made good business sense i suppose, they are not in it to loose, saying that any promoter who is in it for simply profit, is not only a quite bad outlook for profit, but also a mercenary atitude, genuine good effort and intent always shine through.

But anyway me and the guy get on great, he's a real full on devotee, and its never been mentioned between us 'cause it dont matter.

Saying that im coming from my current position, many years ago i had my legs chopped from under me, via lies, from what was always considered mine, along with, but never without my imput, venue. Guess what it never was on at the recognised venue again, and died within a couple of follow ups, later being replaced by a smaller venue......so there!!!

I was finally told the reasoning many years later, id sold some of my collection, yet i still always did the recognised best spots, but again when the pound note signs flash before the eyes it can get very cutthroat business when involving pirates, and bukkin'fukkenears.

In the end i pulled through and invested my time and 22p in the business, extracting coconuts from botle nosed dolphin droppings, sadly it never paid, knew i shouldn't have listened to Swoz

Then theres the tie him to a tree in cannock chase option, so he gets bummed to death by orienteering gay rambling society members..we meet last sun every month....ooo0ops!!!!!!

Nope! It has (hypothetically) happened to a mate of mine, who is too mild mannered these days to do anything. (But I'm not!) Just quietly letting the hypothetical perpetrator know that I know, and that the readers of this thread, to their credit, think it's a foul trick!

Who is he i will punch his lights out for you.

Stu.

(Violence never solved anything)

Is that why i am not a good problem solver.

D. But it would have to be beyond reasonable doubt that he did it.......a stone bonker and he will have shot himself in the foot as no one will ask him to DJ.

i would like to clear up this rumour that the person in question is me,i attended the evening and thoroughly enjoyed it. I was approached by a member of the club which was a 2 minute conversation about putting a night on late next year, didn't really think much more about it as i run a sucessful night in york anyway alongside my other two mates. And anyone who knows me would know that i wouldn't step on anyone elses toes especially when the night the guys put on at huntington is always a great sucess and is always for a worthy cause.Hope this clears things up, was quite saddened really that people on here would take things this far.So sorry guys you've got the wrong person, im more than happy where i am.

then the manager would politely refuse the advances of the other club ...... send him off with a flea in his ear

maybe all these managers don't act the same way

I have known and worked with many, they can do things for a large variety of reasons....

Tell me in a pm Trev, i would then pass on the info to others and make sure this character is known for what he is... thumbsup.gif

Not you, never was you, never was implied it was you.

Hi Mate know exactly how u feel this happened to me about 15 yrs ago and ruined what used to be a great soul night! In my personnal opinion walk away and start again but don't tell anybody any of your plans as there are too many people on the soul scene who will stab you in the back rather than look at you!!TRUST NOBODYangry.gif
