Glynthornhill Posted April 21, 2010 Author Posted April 21, 2010 One on Manships auction recently, surprised it didn't go for more, great record. Highest bid up to now £175 ( worth more than that ) What price did it reach on JMS out of interest.
Guest no1guy Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 All of £65 Glyn! Hi paul best laugh i've had in ages. John
Paul McKay Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Was it you that got it then - bit of a bargain or what!
Glynthornhill Posted April 21, 2010 Author Posted April 21, 2010 Was it you that got it then - bit of a bargain or what! See not everytime that J M s auction site comes up with the highest price. Bit of an unknown it needs a Big Name Dj to spin and they will all be clammering after it and the price will jump to £500 plus like many other early modern 45s have in recent years .
Guest j a c k o Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 £65 - i thought it was a bargain too- been after it for years . I had been offered it for anything between £150 and £200 over the last couple of years. Had it's moment of glory in the early 80s but seemed to drop off the radar, though to me it's THE record that epitomises that era. Andy
Steve G Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Ian Clark confirmed what I suspected Rufus Hunter is Herbert Hunter's son.
Louise Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Ian Clark confirmed what I suspected Rufus Hunter is Herbert Hunter's son. Sorry to correct you Steve but Rufus is Herbert's younger brother. I used to speak to him often before his wife kicked him out ! Come to think of it he still owes me some money but that's another story. Dave .W
