Oh and the Four Vandals The Blue Lion in Newton Le Willows up here has had a similar updated Jukey (computer touch screen affair) with a similar odd amount of oddball soul n stuff on it. The funny thing is some of the scans that come up have been lopped straight off Ebay as they are boots, re-isssues. Link to comment Social source share
soulpaul0
lets name the good ones- i would drink in a decent pub with good music if there was one in local area. love the post with record under inxs just to see they faces when it comes on (not what they want but its like pearls before swine ); Link to comment Social source share
Godzilla
I've just bought one of these It's an NSM HIT 120 circa late 70s/early 80s. The people I got it from had rescued it from the United Bus Workers Social Club here in Scarborough, so it has provenance, as they say. Link to comment Social source share
Swifty
In the late 70's early 80's (Can't remember really) me and my best mates parents both had pubs here in Louth , my old man used to play Robbie Vincent tapes and loads of Taped vinyl (he was a cool guy!) and on my mates Jukebox I had two rows of Northern that I would buy in 3 or 4 copies of at 60p each ish and flog to people at a quid ! Happy Days eh! Cheers Swifty p.s. we also put IVOR BIGGUN - THE WINKERS SONG under GERRY RAFFETY - BAKER STREET and that was 'kin funny to watch middle aged couples putting that on whilst having a basket meal !!!! Guest WPaulVanDyk
I think CD jukeboxes meant that you can add some Northern ie it might be a double cd of popular tunes or some soul CD's with a few on it. Vinyl jukeboxes are same but if you liked could have used like old gold records so you had the hits and again some Northern ie tams etc However there are now new jukeboxes which are MP3's and they actually can store thousands of tracks from more then the obvious CD's. there was a pub here with one and i found everything from Moses Smith, Jackie Wilson - Open the Door To Your Heart, Paul Anka - When We Get There and loads of other tracks it had not just 1 cd some bands had like 5 or 6 as if it was there back catalogue Link to comment Social source share

I'm pretty sure you're right. There's certainly one full compilation CD on there (Mel Wynn, Tobi Legend etc.), but there's the odd one or two tracks that seem to materialise out of nowhere. Further investigation last night revealed : Cooperates Four Larks Capreez Jack Montgomery Candy & the Kisses And yes I do play them otherwise it tends to be wall to wall Pink Floyd, Dire Straits or Kings of Leon. Oh and the Four Vandals While in the U.K. recently we went to the Soulville Steak House in the centre of Nottingham. They have an old type jukebox with stacks of Northern and Motown singles on it AND the best part is you can press the buttons and play them for FREE while partaking in the eating of the best steaks i have tried ever. They have some fantastic memorabilia too as well as a nice Lambretta parked in the window. Well worth a visit if your in Nottingham. The owner is a real nice guy too and loves his soul music. The place is alway's packed out with soulies old and new. Defo be in there when we come over in September. Stay soulful.. Tony and Sue, OZ. Link to comment Social source share

pikeys dog
Here's my 1965 Seeburg Discotheque Junior (Mustang U-100) that originally came from a pub in Nottingham: It's a U.S. street scene with shop signs that have names of dances on them - Frug, Twist, Madison, Cha Cha Cha etc - that are flourescent - unfortunately I need to get a replacement 'black light' bulb for them to be illuminated. Tony Sorry i don't know the actual address as some friends took us there but it is just 2 minutes walk from the Victoria shopping centre which is smack bang in the middle of the city so should'nt be too hard to find. Just ask anyone as it's a real popular place. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did, oh and take a camera. ATB Tony. oz. Link to comment Social source share
