Dennisoul Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 Sometimes I wish I'd never started collecting records.... I've been very lucky in picking up some nice tunes over the years, even adding my alltime fav tune to the collection. Like most collectors on here I've sold a few and regreted it, but I always dive straight back into the collecting game right after I've promised myself I won't buy another. I love northern, rare soul or soul or whatever you want to call it..... Probably more than a passion, more a disease. I just can't fathom it out, one day it's a complete joy. Other days I'll give the record boxes a nasty look other days a look of complete and utter love. I'm chuffed with what sounds I've kept and added to the collection. Is it just ego or just so deep rooted in my blood that I keep collecting... Wish I new!!! But sometimes I do wish I'd never started! Andy

Andy Don't you ever say that again Really, my biggest regret is letting go of my collection. It's hard to start all over again. Records will be there for you forever. There's the freak collector fetish, where we drool over boxes of records and all that. But there's also the other side, the beatiful side. Where you get home and, no matter what you've been gone through, you can sit down and put the needlw on a record. It's a warmness hard to find even with human beings!

Andy Ask yourself how many times have you had days like this... loads probably.. the music is your passion and so is the collecting... maybe there is a little bit of ego involved but, there is nothing wrong with that as long as you dont let it get out of control ( the ego that is). I am sure you will feel differently tomorrow. Enjoy what gives you pleasure in life Andy, we are only here for a while... Philly

When you coming up to play some records and chew the fat young man, give me a call next week.
