Last night a DJ save my life

Upping the game

I am going to say something now and invite it to be challenged.........

"Now is the best ever time for Northernsoul and The Northernsoul Scene".

Of course I miss not being able to chuck my self all over the floor as I once did and I regret that most of the hallowed building no longer exists.

I loved the eighties, I loved the lean years during the nineties I loved the feeling of exclusivity and the believe that we were guarding some thing precious and discarded.

If I have to be honest with my self, I love the scene as it is now; I'm well over the silly feelings I once had for those rejoining, I am now old enough to live and let live and party like its 1999!

I think the music has changed, it has become more diverse and there are dedicated collectors and DJ's who are willing to play some thing a little special, this isn't new to the scene but we do seam to have more and more quality?

Are we enjoying renaissance or are we all aware now of our immortality and milking it all like greedy pups?

I feel that the DJ's are upping their game? We are seeing venues gravitating to the pinnacle and we watch the heard eagerly spurring on those who spin the rarest danceable tunes.

Mid rift crisis? I've never felt so slim! I know what I look like in the mirror but I stopped looking a long time ago, I love the night time people and the Northernsoul Nighter scene just seams to be getting better and better?

Have I had one or two many sugars in my tea? I don't care!

There seams to be a real skip in every ones step at the moment and the music on offer just hits the spot.

I was never a full tilt Wigan Casino go'er and I often felt a little left behind when I watched people drift off to a far away place whilst remembering those heady youthful days but now I see people do it once again fro venues that have happened within the last year or so! It's tremendous!

The last weekender was awesome! Every one I bored was top class and I wonder if it can get any better for the scene as we are now enjoying?

Is it just me?

Gotta agree m8

Every weekend there's something out there, something different as well

\its good for the scene and I don't give a flying fig if northern/rare becomes

commercial  - all the TV researchers can't be wrong they using our music for many adverts now and gudon 'em I say

Royalties for those gods still living would be a bonus with commerciality

and I note quite a few young 'uns on the scene - must have had good parents

Keep taking that sugar in ya tea Simon - once a Soulful Sapper always a soulful sapper

AND I DID SAY SAPPER :ohmy:

No it's not just you Simon.

IMO the niter scene offers so much more than a soul nite.

There are of course some exceptions.

However the vibrancy, variety of sounds and atmosphere of an upfront niter definitely has a positive effect on the attendees.

Thats my two penny worth.
