has this been happening to anyone else? i've been getting ebay orders in the mail and the seller has added one or two extra free records! they are not rare - usually something they clearly could not sell, but also not trashed garbage. this is not all from the same seller, either!

lately i've received (free) nice copies of:

baby dave cortez - let it be me

contours - do you love me

garnet mimms - cry baby

isley bros - its your thing

its nice because i usually don't buy these types of records, but when I DJ they are sometimes requested.

just wondered if this has always gone on?

Yeah, I opened a packet a few weeks ago and was surprised to see a freebie in there. An Isley Brothers on T-Neck.

How about "sellers who sell things on ebay, refund the money and still send the records"?

About 5 weeks back I sold about 50 items, for some reason I never got confirmation that 5 of them had been paid for so after a fortnight or longer, the buyers asked me where their records were. I told them I always post out within 24 hours and there must be a good reason like the postman not leaving a note for them.

Turns out I'd still got the records, got no confirmation off ebay, so I apologised sincerely, refunded their monies included postage and then sent them the records anyway. I should have checked myself, so it was my fault.

I lost about £60 altogether.

Better than one negative feedback though eh?

T'other night at Soulfusion Mart Taylor (Glawster on here) showed me a nice Wilmer and the Dukes "Give me one more chance" Aphrodisiac W/D used as extra packing. not particularly rare but nice, especially gratis!

was a us dealer who was selling records in 6s

was 2 of the six i wanted,so bid and won them

at a decent price

so i could stick 4 in my swaps pile/see swap out in swaps section

anyway

when they came there was 7 records

and a note saying

the record is free as one of the 45s has a hairline

the record was rescue me--fontella bass---one which i was gonna put in soul pack

so ive put sergio mendes--love music demo--in its place

RESULT

Although it hasn't happened to me on Ebay, it has happened with some lovely sellers on here!

I brought a track from one chap at a fantastic price and he then threw in another from the same artist. 2nd was a lovely well priced R&B track and the freebee was another that i really liked but couldn't afford and presumed it had already been purchased.

I won't name these members for fear that people will expect extras everytime. They know who they are though

I always add a freebie or two. The way I see it, if it's worth £10 or less it's too much hassle selling singly, so give it to someone who likes soul, and also keeps the customer happy.

there are a couple of guys on here that do that

how about this one - a guy posted a soundfile of a track in the Audio section on here and i commented that i liked it, few days later it dropped through my letterbox (completely free of charge)

there are some lovely people on here

bought a copy of joe simon`s we`re together on posse for 2 dollars but when i opened the package it contained the 45 and 5 dollars ................. he said it had a bit of crackle on the intro so gave me a refund. nice. also had a copy of the esquires listen to me on bunky sent in place of a cardboard stiffener with another 45.... also nice

if you're buying a few items of Harold harmony45wax most of the time there is something for free added when it arrives. just one of the best sellers on ebay.

I've had this happen with a couple of sellers on gemm.One UK based and one from USA.
