Hi

As anyone got on the Label SUNFLOWER

I THINK IT WAS A DETROIT LABEL

And people like Mike Terry etc where session players there!

How many records where released? Artists ? Rareities etc

Many thanks so far!

But there DOES appear to be at least 2 Sunflower Labels

The one im trying to find out about is Deffo Detroit

It has an address of Oakman Boulevdard Detroit!

The Jean Carter release seams like the one a yellow label if i remember!

Was there ANY OTHER releases???

The Jean Carter Sunflower is Detroit. Isn't the lab design a sunflower, yellow petals on dark background. Aren't all the jean carter poor recordings too and only a few hundred pressed because of this?

got it in my head it ws Detroit, knew it wasn't the one Ian as talking about. I can vaguely remember Sidney talking about the Jean Carter when he first came over here.

He was on the one i posted Chalky - chicago address on that sunflower one.

I thought the Jean Carter on Sunflower was Detroit, couldn't check yesterday as I've been away with work all week.....

bobby taylor did one on the detroit sunflower 126 label regards johno

according to this scan its west coast so did it have a Detroit release as well? Also according to Keith Rylatts new Detroit Soul book Bobby Taylor on the Detroit Sunflower.

Not mixing it up with the Decca 45 that was poorly recorded are you Chalky, she'd be unlucky to have two stinkers out with her name on it!

dunno mate, got it in my head the Sunflower press was not tip top quality either, again thinking it was something Sidney Barnes mentioned as well. Not had the record for years. Could be the grey matter getting rather clouded Ady :huh:

Here is the Love Hangover side.

All of these pressings are pretty terrible - I have had quite a few and some have skipped. Probably the worst pressing I have seen on a 45.

thank god for that for senile dementia was setting in early :huh: She was indeed an unlucky girl to have two bad presses then!!
