Guest Matt Male Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 'Culture of a bygone era' 'For one night only, Northern Soul was bought back to life' I was just thinking what vinyl i could have bought with the 17 grand from the lottery.
Little-stevie Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 You started the post Phil..... Discuss.... I bet it will be a little strange for some of them pupils to walk into a soul night today and see that little as changed apart from the age of the punters.... When we did history at school it was always about something from the past that remains in the past.. Good topic for the pupils, must be better than learning about victorian Britain or the rail roads like we did.... Would be interesting to see if any of the pupils follow this up and go along to a soul night...
Supercorsa Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Is the paper trying to tell us something? Big article on Northern Soul and an advert for fires offering "Pensioners Discount"!
Quinvy Posted March 8, 2010 Author Posted March 8, 2010 I would have thought that this would have provoked more of a reaction?

Steve G Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 A piece of local news about some school kids learning about northern soul as it was in the 70s. Fine, can't get excited about it, except to say when I was at school it was all Tudors and Stuarts. Good on the kids,I am sure some of their grandparents actually went to the Casino.
