NEV Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Hi all Took a chance on this ....meaning it was on ebay and had soundfiles that sounded a bit poor but apparently not many decent copies ,if any, have surfaced?? Anyway it arrived today ..gave it a bit of T.L.C and i'm happy with the sound. I know Marc Forrest has a copy and plays it out but is it getting much or any spins in UK please? Editing the post to include refo in a mo
Chalky Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 (edited) The only other copies in this country I know of Andy Dyson had (mint too if I remember rightly), he played it out a few years ago (early Lifeline spin). Think he got a spare some years ago not sure where it went. Very rare record. Edited March 2, 2010 by chalky
Greg Belson Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 One of the Dig Deeper DJ's in NYC has a copy, and I believe he favours the flip 'Funky popcorn'. Very nice 45, and sounds like your clean up job has worked a treat.
Rushden Vic Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 (edited) Ive seen 4 copies go through on e bay ,over the last 3 -4 years including a beat up copy that john anderson sold , seems to be pretty rare was suprised when no one bid on the recent copy which was buy it now $900 or bid at $700, the seller relisted at a lower starting price think it was $600 which i presume is the copy Nev got. Pomonkey Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 (edited) I've seen 3 go though ebay in the last 5 or so years so guess I missed one, I was 2nd bidder on the first one - have a feeling it went to Tony Janda in Chicago but maybe was the one Andy D has, either way it was pretty damn f*ck*d, vg-- is being more than generous, then I got the 2nd, plays vg+ on the Funky Popcorn side which Greg is right in saying we hammer over here at Dig Deeper, it's a beyond killer club sound, vg on ITMB as it's a quieter side, but have put ITMB on mixes and people always always jump on it, then this latest copy was very reasonable for the price Nev got it for mind you as yes it's a stupidly hard 45 to get - I tend to put the IDMB side together in my head with the Alice Rouzier and Little Joe "I love you" on Stone which is also genius, also Georgia and also impossible to find, actually got one of those almost the same time as the Daniel Madison, plus a Thomas Bailey & Flintstone's Band (also on Stone) and a John Bradley & Swinging Soul Seekers on Em-Jay, so that month felt like winning a jackpot of rare Georgia soul in one sweep Edited March 3, 2010 by chalky swearing

PS please refrain from spelling the whole swear word out, use a star/asterisk/anyother symbol! Edited March 3, 2010 by chalky
Pomonkey Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Oops, figured the site would auto-asterisk it! Like said, think Tony got the 1st, v impressed Andy has 2 nice copies, someone should make him an offer for one! And although it's not Northern, wait til you hear the flip (I'm too Luddite to be able to post clips but Nev if the other side of yours cleaned up better than the auction soundfile you could maybe stick it up)
Chalky Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 this'll be the knackered one from a few years ago, one of two on popsike...
Dysonsoul Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Fabulous double sider,i sold tony ganda a copy some years ago ,kept one then came across another 2 were near on mint the other used, great soul vocals !
Pomonkey Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 ps other than me and Tony have never heard of anyone else in the US with one (expecting the usual reply in 5.1 microseconds from boba to the contrary mind you haha, hi Bob! )
Garethx Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Was played covered as The Transnationals. Great soul record, both sides.

Marc Forrest Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Fabulous double sider,i sold tony ganda a copy some years ago ,kept one then came across another 2 were near on mint the other used, great soul vocals ! Been playing this indeed the last few years again and again. Has some sort of following by now in Berlin But yes, a true Dyson 45! Although it is one of one certain Mr Dobson alltime favourite soul 45s. I love it to bits. Seen some copies go thru the bay but most knackered. Still very rare indeed.
