Mick Howard Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Yep. Think Mr Banks has it. Yup. Only copy I've ever seen or heard out. In my top 30 in the poll. Mick
Guest in town Mikey Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Who used to play this at Stafford? One of my faves from that time. ps I thought Shute had bought a disco record when I saw the title.
oldsteve woomble Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Legendary tune IMO. Unusually enough, a real Cleethorpes Winter Gardens memory for me from when RB was so ably assisting us to hold the place together.... sniff..............memories...like the corners of my mind etc etc Now though, I'm sure Roger must get sick of me running in during his spot whenever I bump into him, asking for this, shuffling my not very impressive thang along to it, and then scuttling off back to the modern room! Anyway, what's the Jaadee then? It's on Tide innit?....
Tony Foster Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Yup. Only copy I've ever seen or heard out. In my top 30 in the poll. Mick Carl Willingham's got one
Tommaso Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Jorg Brenner from Munich has got one as well.. he found one in a bookshop in the us for 3$!
Chalky Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Think I've heard Butch spin it the odd time. Did it come out on two labels? or under two names?
oldsteve woomble Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Think I've heard Butch spin it the odd time. Did it come out on two labels? or under two names? Aye that's what I was thinking Chalky.... I only ever had it down as E Williams on Tide..... Roger! Where are you!?..........
Little-stevie Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Carl Willingham's got one yes indeed... Very few copies indeed.. Very fond memories of hearing Mr Banks play this from many moons ago... holy grail springs to mind.. tuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuune...
Guest Dante Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 its in Refosoul Doh! For some reason I asumed it wasn't there. Thanks.
Corbett80 Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Jimmy Williams on Tide books at £1k E.Williams on Jaydee books at £4k!!! Is there a difference in the recordings then? Someone said recently the artists are one and the same.....
Anoraks Corner Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Jimmy Williams on Tide books at £1k E.Williams on Jaydee books at £4k!!! Is there a difference in the recordings then? Someone said recently the artists are one and the same..... E.Williams is the one that gets the plays...solid tune! The Jimmy Williams is also rare...but is a different recording set at a more uptempo pace and with (unfortunately) a weaker vocal....interesting but not in the same league.
Corbett80 Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Thanks for the info Dave, been trying to find out about that for a while.
