Great 60s Pop record with a great White pop vocal.

Northern Soul?

Not in my book.

Check out 'Sugar Shack' by him - it's a dead ringer for Dee Clarks 'That's My Girl' and knocks this into a cocked hat... not sure if Dee Clark is a rip off or it's the other way around.

It's the other way round. "Sugar Shack" came out in April 1963, "That's My Girl" was recorded in November of the same year...

Jimmy was on the board of directors of the company that I worked for in the mid 90s. He's a very nice man and I'm sure he'd be terribly amused to know he was now an R&B artist!

Another one of those pesky Mod club sounds I used to play crossing over onto the Northern scene then - used to play Combinations "Bump Ball" around the same time...

Thanks for the confirmation Tony, always thought Jimmy was first but didn't want to commit in print as it were...

The UK Stateside copy has a longer Guitar Riff intro,

which isnt in/on the Dot copy!!!!,

Which i think why it has a certain Wiganesque sort of appeal if thats your bag!

DOT one is good, but i prefer the Stateside version too. Stateside one seems much harder to find. Although i have seen a demo recently....
