Sunnysoul
Played this recently and it absolutely packed the floor !!! Funnily enough sounds so right for today's tastes. On Calla in the US, it's first UK 7" appearance was on Contempo wasn't it ? Was there also PYE Disco Demand 7" UK release ? Their LP was on UK Contempo. Did the girls ever tour the UK ? Top sound, alway's loved it. Was huge at Cleethorpes along with loads of other funk style dancers. Got most of them from those day's and might even consider selling them all cos they do sound so damn good. Glad it packed the floor for you. Tony. Perth, W.A. The UK LP is on MOJO, not Comtempo. Yes there was a PYE DD 7 release. Great record BTW. Edited February 24, 2010 by davetay Link to comment Social source share

Wrongcrowd
I've always loved this....but hadn't played it in years, until I dusted my copy off a few weeks back. I have to say it sounded even better than when I first heard it at the local youth club.....gorgeous soul, and a superb production from Joe Tate... They apparantly recorded earlier as The Passionettes on Path.... Link to comment Social source share

Nice lookin demo you have there. Link to comment Social source share
Larsc
They apparantly recorded earlier as The Passionettes on Path.... The girls denied ever recording as The Passionettes when they were asked during a discussion on soulfuldetroit.com. Apparently they did use the name but only went in the studio as The Fuzz. The group on Path is another outfit. Edited March 2, 2010 by LarsC Link to comment Social source share

I don't doubt that maybe what they said, and it wouldn't be the first time that artists have 'forgotten' tracks they've cut or even released. The line up for both groups is the same as confimed from reliable sources... https://www.soulfulkindamusic.net/fuzz.htm https://supersoulsisters.blogspot.com/2009/06/fuzz-fuzz-1971-plus.html Soul Harmony Singles - Jeff Beckman, Jim Hunt and Tom Kline Link to comment Social source share

boba
Soul Harmony Singles isn't always reliable and soulfulkindamusic confirmes that they did not record while using The Passionettes as a name. Little is known about the group on Path. Considering these girls only recorded one album I'd be surprised if they forgot any recordings they did. Passion on mother earth and the Passionettes on Soul Burst are both philly records so are probably the same group as listed in the soul harmony singles book. They list the path group together with that group, but I'm not sure why, I don't think there are common names but I have to look at the path record again to check. The Uni record is probably some other unrelated group or at least is bizarre since it is a Tammy Wynette cover. Link to comment Social source share

Seano
The Prelude for "I'm so glad" on the album is well worth a listen too. Link to comment Social source share
Guest Soulskate70
I've always liked his tune, however, one of their other tracks "For All Seasons" is one of my all time favourite tracks.... A bit slow and 70's funk orientated for some of the Northern crowd, but such a good tune. I've never been 100% about their album and found it something of a dissapointment when I first heard it....
