Still like "The Zoo", "Goodbye..." is ok in a corny way,

Always hated "My Hearts Symphony" with a passion.

Anyway here's one for you staying with the big records of summer 74 "Human Jungle" The Fugitives.

A few real oldies

Something keeps calling me back -Wayne Fontana

Gotta have your love- the sapphires

Sally saying something- Billy Harner

When did anybody last play...

"Tears of a Clown" (inst) by Detroit Sounds ?

it was on a cheap LP from Woolies.

played out late73 early74,

Here's one if you like string laden instrumentals of dubious origin.

An old Winstanley spin from wigan The Arctic Strings "Turn me on" on Andee. I love it!

Not sure if you're 'on the thread' SoulEchoes.

The Jerry Butler is pure unadulterated class and a tune one would love to hear anywhere any time whereas the thread is about tunes you haven't heard for years & are not likely to.

Ooops I think you are right Mick...must have been those stellas I had last night! whistling.gif

Still at least wicked enjoyed hearing the tune again so glad I posted it up! smile.gif

And as you said the ice man is pure unadulterated class!

I find it amazing that a lot/most of these tunes listed in the thread have been played loads in the past year at venues we've been to. 2 of the above are a good example.

Wayne fontana - Monaco ballroom

Sapphires - Grosvenor last week ( i played it)

I also heard 'soul step' not too long ago but can't remember exactly where

as a side note, many folk say the oldies scene plays the same tired old tunes. . . . obvioulsy not the case if this thread is anything to go by thumbsup.gif

Much too good a record to be on same thread as most of the horrors listed.

You sure it was on a Verve album ?

ooops sorry all we seem to have a double thread going...didn't mean to poach honest! :innocent:

Think it was verve...then again memory is not what it was...I'll dig it out and have a look.

"Supertime"- Golden World Strings, methinks it was a bootleg but don't know who by?

Always though Gwen & Ray was a brilliant tune. Fat Man At The Go Go is Butch Baker which is also a good dance tune.

What about It's Too Late - Bobby Goldsboro - yuck.....

Mick

Thanks Mick, you learn something new every day, what do you think to my other additions? Stewart............

Actually, most of your selections are O.K. so perhaps they ought to be heard out rather than not apart of course from Roger Collins (pass me the sick bag).
