Naughty Boy Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 This i want to see! Debbie x Well Debs he may have just done it or would. because ive done it myself at both ends of the soul spectrum and on one occasion i started to move a table and put in on a dancefloor but was persuaded not to
Guest James Trouble Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 This i want to see! Debbie x Some people think that their opinion is more important than another person's opinion. Sometimes some people's opinion deserves to be concidered more important than another person's opinion. Sometimes someone's opinion sounds like it doesn't deserve to be given weight, maybe because they are rude, but that doesn't mean their opinion may not be more valid and more important than another less well informed, if more polite opinion. Sometimes polite and nice people coem across as having better informed more balenced view points, even though they are naive and short sighted. Debbie, you seem to be a nice girl with a loverly rose tinted outlook on life. I'm a bit envious of that but unfortunately I fear that your outlook is held together in a frame of naivety. I hope it doesn't, because you seem really nice, but one day the naivety will fall away and you'll become another mean, nasty, opinionated, although better informed, c*nt, just like so many of the posters on this site.
Paul-s Posted February 18, 2010 Author Posted February 18, 2010 ========= a blokes got to make a living ...he wasnt the only dj to play pop in that era,,,theres lots old djs who dont get anywhere else either i cant beleive the venom and vitriol against russ on here hes just a person at the end of the day and i think alot of the jibes on here are just out of order especially when he s not on here to defend himself Well, thats total rubbish, i can give loads of TRUE examples of what an opportunist, uncaring, souless being he is. Ive been at the end of it. In fact, in the past he has asked Mike to remove 'TRUTH' rather than answer it. He gets other people to i guess? I dont know. The fact that some people excuse this crap with 'a guys got to make a living' shows how wide the gap truly is between my understanding of 'soul' and theirs. We are just from two different scenes i guess. Im not a part of the smashey nicey, memorabelia, live in the past, get the mug, wear the shirt, play the bootleg, sell my soul scene. If this had happened in the 70s when people still had care and respect for the scene and gave a f--k, there would have been uproar and derision. Now, you want dance lessons...f--king hell!
Paul-s Posted February 18, 2010 Author Posted February 18, 2010 The funny thing is............None of you have the guts to go up to the dj's playing the records & moan to them about what they play, or to go up to the folk wearing the clothes you dont like & tell them to there face, you just hide behind a keyboard & moan Debbie x
Casper Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 what a great idea iv just sent her this >>>>>>>hi how interesting , do you go to any allnighters . theres some fantastic ones going on . im from yorkshire too . if you want to go you can tag along with me if you like all the best <<<<<<<<< er . wonder what il get back if she replys and yes ! im insane maybe you're not insane....may be its everyone else who is, and you're normal KTF Susan x

I had the unfortunate event of having to DJ with Binstanley and complained to the organiser about his crap bootlegs and his choice of shit records for a dance competition. He wanted (of course): Frank Wilson - Do I love You (bootleg obviously ) Flirtations - Little Darlin and some other inane hammered crap on a bootleg. So, YES, i do say if i see it. I had to stop him bringing a cd player into a post show event to dj from and at the Wigan 30th anniverasy he used almost entirely cds and when i turned up with vinyl he had to link the decks up... Ian Parker Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Vilfredo Pareto would probably have something to say about that. These dance classes are socially unacceptable in the context of what "Northern Soul" means to all the people on this site and the 'scene' in general. It may be nice and jolly, flowers and bees sweet cakes and sugary tea for the people doing the classes, and in themself, isolated away from the "Northern Soul" scene 'propa', your view point is a fair one. But I'm afraid the feasibility of these dance classes is reliant on those who live, breath and die "Northern Soul" not being offended, embarrassed, insulted and generally being made worse off by the externalities generated by the dance classes. This concideration and the way it is policed is and always has been an intrinsic feature of the various elements that make up and authenticates any music scene. But i would not fancy those dance classes James Like i said im not that innocent.................i would probably punch the woman Debbie x

Mike Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 maybe the whole thing here is that people are being too nice just look at the packaging - a great big f*ck off mod roundel or whatever its called stuck on it a few years ago this "product" would have been laughed off this site nowadays people seem to be scared of saying whats what maybe with stuff like this its not the actual idea but the way that it is carried out that stinks looks like a dog, smells like a .... etc etc
Guest becchio Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 (edited) https://www.northerns...ge_1606195.html Is the for real? Please, please say its a hoax? REMEMBER...... keep repeating the move before speeding it up - keep pausing the DVD until you are confident with the move before moving on. This is particularly relevant to the intermediate DVD's which are quite complicated. is it real ? because thats why iv emailed her , to find out i know huddersfield is ACTUALLY REAL cos iv been there on a bus once, but each time i look at the site er , iv never seen owt like it Edited February 18, 2010 by becchio
Pete S Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 nowadays people seem to be scared of saying whats what They are /we are, thats the problem. Cause have you seen what happens when you do? Thats why (despite our constant butting of heads) you have to have people like Paul S and James on a site like this otherwise it would be just so namby-pamby "after you sir no after you sir" that it wouldn't be worth carrying on. But the straight talkers are exceptions to the rule nowadays I guess.

Guest Mrs Simsy Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Ironically once you've been taught how to dance, she teaches you how to sit in the record bar all night and moan about the music. It's the complete course That really made me laugh!

Where can I get me one of those really cool Frank Wilson watches please? : There is no end to this tat on sale at any weekender....That's my whole point. The NS scene is totally commercialised, and despite the best efforts of a minority, the "entrepreneurs" have found some increasingly novel ways to make a fast buck out of NS. As for libel position, as long as not defamatory, people are allowed to express views....

I suppose they could do if they thought it was affecting their livelihood? She couldn't Pete. There is no (recognized) governing body. No qualifications (i hope she has public liability & Indemnity & a CRB check for young dancers). You can get sued if someone follows a dvd and can then prove they were injured as a result of bad teaching. So she cannot prove she is qualified and therefore her qualifications to teach this in a formal way can be questioned. Though maybe universities may give it accreditation.
