if you list an item eg a valuable record(not a car) and you put a reserve on of £6000,and the item does not reach the reserve price,how much would e bay fees be roughly

on the other hand if the item did sell and go over the reserve,what would the e bay and paypal fees be on £6000

If it didn't reach the reserve, all it would cost you is the listing fee for the item. Maybe a fiver on something this expensive.

If it did reach or go past the reserve, eBay would take 9%, so on £6000 it would be £560. If the buyer paid by Paypal, you would pay approx 2.4% of the £6000 which is about £150. In essence, on an item you sell for £6000, you would receive about £5300.

Used to be 3% selleing fee but eBay son grew wise to the fact that 45's make a lot of money so I guess they decided to have a piece of the action!!

there's a new fee structure after march if you list in ebay on the US site. The fees will be 9% of the sale price up to a maximum of $50. not too bad for any $1000 plus record. it's the 25-700$ dollar records that will hurt the most.
