This has been doing my head in all day, anyway i rang my 78year old mother today as i do everyday just to make sure she`s ok, the conversation swung to this as i know it was one of her favourites in the 70/80`s when i was living at home. "ooh i remember that, i liked that one" she said, after chatting for a while we said our goodbyes. And then an hour later the phone rang "HARRY she said, "THAT ALBUM IS CALLED THE VERY BEST OF GENE MCDANIELS" short pause whilst i lift my jaw off the carpet "HOW THE HELL DO YOU KNOW I SAID" reply, "I NEVER TOLD YOU I NICKED IT OFF YOU BEFORE YOU LEFT, BUT YOU CAN HAVE IT BACK NOW She`s a DIAMOND my mam
