I thought the black Canadian pressing was the OG. Anyone know?

They were a canadian band (a.k.a. The Band who backed Bob Dylan and earlier Ronnie Hawkins) so it would make sense that the canadian ATCO release was the first issue, but I certainly don't know for sure. Perhaps the canadian 45 was issued a couple of weeks/months later than the first US Atco release due to demand from their homeland?

By the way, there are 3 years between the different US Atco issues of "He Don't Love You":

Levon & The Hawks - He Don't Love You / The Stones I Throw - ATCO 6383 (1965)

Levon & The Hawks - He Don't Love You / Go Go Liza Jane - ATCO 6625 (1968)

F*cking ridiculous, I listed this 3 times before I sold no more than 2 months ago, it ended up going for 40 quid. UK one is quite rare but shouldn't be more than 50.

I have seen the ATCO's listed for 100 quids in the last 12 months Pete.

It must be getting plays / getting demand.

A bloody brilliant record IMO - Top quality RnB.

I think 100 for a mint UK copy would be a great price personally.

I never see the UK copy for sale

It's alright seeing them listed at 100 but check back through my sales lists, I think I started it at 60, reduced it to 50 a couple of weeks later, then 40.

Anyone paying more than £50 for a UK copy, or £40 for a U.S. copy wants their bumps feeling.

I left several behind on my last trip to the states because the sellers wanted around $30 each for them and I couldn't see any profit in them (the £ was at $1.34 at the time)

But you always sell everything too cheap Pete !! LOL

I have heard this 45 is picking up a lot of interest tho, on the Mod and RnB side of things.

I know my mate paid nearly 100 for an atco copy last year.

Like I said - I personally really rate the tune quality wise, Its got everything, a fantastic RnB belter !

By the way, here's a great picture of Levon & The Hawks from a year before they issued "He Don't Love You":

Their "Leave Me Alone" released as The Canadian Squires (just a couple of months prior to their first Atco 45) is a superb garage rock pounder:

I love both sides of 6383; the chorus in "Stones" is an absolute meat hook. I was following that auction and I couldn't believe it hit $190, though in all fairness, I'm not up on the prices. Scouring around I found a M copy on black Atlantic for £100, but I'll be disappointed if after dropping all that cash I find one selling for $19.50 on auction, as the gentleman above pointed out. A mint copy is overkill for me anyhow, since I'd be putting it in a jukebox. Anyone have a so-so copy to sell?
