Reg Scott Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 (edited) Hi, I've been following this recently, MARK III - SHOULD I BELIEVE YOU / PEACEFUL, LONELY, FREE - STOP 1512 , and picked up a confused picture on it's current price and scarcity.. For information purposes it books at £750 in TB's guide and I've seen it listed for around £1000 before. I've included 2 recent sales links which demonstrate my point on current prices. Appreciate any info and opinion on this. Regards, G. We all have differing opinions but to say that "it is not that great a record.." is interesting.. I don't believe it is widely known and I doubt PB has 'loads of copies' as it sold for £1500 on the 08.12.2009 - unless you believe PB massages his results it's a genuine sale, hence the question I raised as the theme of the thread.. Although this other banter is interesting to a point, I'd like to return to the question posed please. So, if anybody has any info - see first post - then it would be appreciated. BTW For the scinics, it's a record I'm after and not looking to sell! ---------------------------------------------------- Regards, G. Edited January 31, 2010 by ClearVinyl

Mark B Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 I know My mate Paul traded his Stop copy for £1000.00 tune but my copy on Quality only raised £340.00 i would say in rarity terms the £750.00 to £1000.00 on Stop. mark

Like I said we all have differing tastes I don't think it's ('Should I Believe You') a dancefloor tune either, the rhythm is all over the place - mainly due to the funk style syncopated drumming - very difficult to dance to in any typical 'northern style. Not surprised you didn't get much reaction, probably just a few confused faces! But it's that syncpated rhythm, the horns, bongos and chaotic vocal that turn me on to it! It's more a record room tune for me. The other side - 'Painful' - is as you say the quality side. BTW I'd be interested in reading Sam's review if it's available anywhere.. --------------------------------------- Regards, G. Edited January 31, 2010 by ClearVinyl

Wasn't refering to the info on another press Boba, that's all good info and much appreciated, just wanted to focus on that type of info i.e. oubjective rather than any subjective stuff. Apologies if you read it any other way. ATB Greg.
Pomonkey Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 I won your copy Mark, was very pleased with the price - glad you did well on it too - even got a few "well done" emails after the auction telling me what a steal had got it for so nice we're both happy, the Quality issue is just as hard as the Stop, eg Martin Koppel has been in Canada for donkeys years and had never even heard of it, personally into both sides, can't argue bit moddish, that's no bad thing for me, it's quality on Quality!
