Ficklefingers Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Hi all I'm probably stating the bleedin obvious here .....but is the fact he is called Bobby ST James a connction to the SAINTS ,who i'm sure you know also did this on Kent I used to have the same title, but with the flip 'Wear My Ring', also on Watts - by the Uptones. So.. It begs the question: What is the relationship between the three ?? ie. was Bobby part of the Saints & Uptones setups ? Also.. Were the Saints & the Uptones one & the same outfit ?? And.. What's the facts surrounding the release (first) of the Uptones on (black) Watts - followed by the Bobby St James on (yellow) Watts ?? Mmm.. Nice one, though, Nev - interesting little topic.. Fingers

Guest Johnny Mack Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Also came out on Stardom A real litter of releases on this one, some of which are quite rare - dont know the answer to your question but I've posted up label pics and scans for the curious. I'll post a Bobby St James scan up when I find it. Best John

Chalky Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 (edited) The Uptones on Watts (The Taken For A Ride side anyway) is the Saints according to Soul Harmony Singles with members Carlton Beck (lead) formerly of the Senders, The Swallows on Guyden and The Guides, later of the Hollywood Saxons, The Professionals and Speed Limit, Richard Betts (Baritone) later of Speedlimit plus unknown members. Dunno if the rest of The Uptones output is the Saints. No mention of who is in the Saints in the book. Edited January 31, 2010 by chalky
