Sunnysoul Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Which version do you prefer ? JR Bailey or Donny Hathaway ?
jocko Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 You bunch of Northern monkeys, and yes that includes you Croasdell. Listening to Donnie Hathaway provides as much pleasure as having a threesome with Angela Jolie and Lara Croft, followed by afters with some equally fit young thing. Heathens!
Ady Croasdell Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 You bunch of Northern monkeys, and yes that includes you Croasdell. Heathens! Eeee eee eee eeh, ooooh oooh ooh ooh, aaah aaah aaah ah, as i was only just explaining to Sonny.
Simsy Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Which version do you prefer ? JR Bailey or Donny Hathaway ? Lenny Kravitz! Not really, Bobby Hebb. Why didn't you do a poll?
Ian Dewhirst Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 You bunch of Northern monkeys, and yes that includes you Croasdell. Listening to Donnie Hathaway provides as much pleasure as having a threesome with Angela Jolie and Lara Croft, followed by afters with some equally fit young thing. Heathens! Hang on Jocko. Angelina Jolie and Lara Croft were one and the same weren't they? This is becoming even more confusing then the Donnie/J.R. Bailey/Bobby Hebb/William Bonney/Len Barry thing........ Ian D

jocko Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Hang on Jocko. Angelina Jolie and Lara Croft were one and the same weren't they? This is becoming even more confusing then the Donnie/J.R. Bailey/Bobby Hebb/William Bonney/Len Barry thing........ Ian D Not in my head Ian, which lets be honest is the closest you or I are ever goign to get to either of them, which is probably just as well at our age! Anyone not voting for Donnie, no matter what hes been compared to, will be dealt with appropriately by the Soul Police, Sweeney and Gene Hunt Squad, get it!
Dave Fleming Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 You bunch of Northern monkeys, and yes that includes you Croasdell. Listening to Donnie Hathaway provides as much pleasure as having a threesome with Angela Jolie and Lara Croft, followed by afters with some equally fit young thing. Heathens! ,Jock maybe you should have mentioned these are two completely different songs that share the same title For me it`s gotta be the great late Mr Donny Hathaway Dave f.........
John Reed Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 You bunch of Northern monkeys, and yes that includes you Croasdell. Listening to Donnie Hathaway provides as much pleasure as having a threesome with Angela Jolie and Lara Croft, followed by afters with some equally fit young thing. Heathens! I'm assuming that you'd be playing the Tomb Raider game with Angelena Jolie, cos the thought of getting jiggy with a computer animation just doesnt seem right to me.......... Its got to be Donnie Hathaway every time. I'm not normally a fan of "live" LP's, but when he sings this on the Atco Live LP the troubles of the world just melt away.
paup-ine Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 This UK copy is almost an instrumental version, very low voice. Yes it is odd with the slow start and all that. Must of been a poor recording misfit or something? P
John Benson Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Out of the two (entirely different) songs which share the same title, I would have to go for..... Donny and Bobby Both the better versions IMHO
Steve Plumb Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Out of the two (entirely different) songs which share the same title, I would have to go for..... John Benson Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 I wasn't going to mention this one Steve, but since you've mentioned it - it's not actually bad... but not as good as JRB, let alone Donny

Sunnysoul Posted February 1, 2010 Author Posted February 1, 2010 Must say I'm a little gobsmacked that when I posted the two names JR Bailey and Donny Hathaway at the beginning of this thread I thought almost everybody on Soul Source would know which "Love Love Love' was in question ... (not Bobby's Hebb's completely different song/record !!! ) Oh well ....
Guest WPaulVanDyk Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 I have not heard Donny Hathaway sing the song so i can only say Bobby Hebb for me.

(not Bobby's Hebb's completely different song/record !!! ) Oh well .... I thought the thread then changed into an appreciation of BOTH songs by various artists BUT I think most folks are aware we're discussing two different songs...............aren't they?

(not Bobby's Hebb's completely different song/record !!! ) Oh well .... Sorry it was a bit of silliness to start with but has ended up confusing everybody. there's also a different song by Damon Shawn on the new Westbound Northern CD (and 45). Ady

Guest POTTERIESPECK Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 I'm assuming JOCKO'S from Scoctland. If so ? how can he refer to people from south of his abode as northern monkey's.
