Clues will be provided if it's too tough.

Right half hour gone. How about a clue.  whistling.gif   Does look familiar but I can't place him.

Ok mate. Singing's not what he was most famous for - although he was an entertainer.

Also, busted in mid 70's for selling drugs to an undercover agent.

I think this might be a tricky one you know shhh.gif

More clues in a bit to get the thing rolling.

Think Chicago labels. Died in 1995 too (or thereabouts)

Is it Bobby Robinson?

If it is I thought he died later than that.

Going of line now for a while, and if I did get it right I dont have a scooby how to post a picture whistling.gif So someone else will have to have a go.

Well done for having a knock Mikey. But nope, not right.

As well as his main job (which I'm not giving away yet cos you'll get it with a google search) he played piano - which probably explains the nice keyboards on his one Northern number.

Yeah, he punches the keyboard

Kidding - no not a boxer.

Here's another clue. Flip of his big record is a standard that was also done by a Motown outfit.

Nope. Had a bet with myself that someone would say that as there's a very similar photo of him.

I think he had quite a few US hits in late 50s
