It's probably seen in some quarters (my own on occasions) as an 'overplayed oldie', but Timi Yuro's It'll Never Be Over For Me is my 'falling in love with that tune again' of late.

I'm a bit of a ballad fan and when listened to this tune ticks all of the boxes for me; fantastic vocals, superb lyrics and music and arrangement to die for; and it has historical mileage on the scene.

So, any others fitting this bill that are 'floating your boat' at present? yes.gifthumbsup.gif

I can play it on a blade of grass if that's any help - is there talent contest at next years Cleethorpes?

But I do know what you mean, and prob have too many to mention that do that for me...., and that record would be in my 'can hear in a new light / over and again'yes.gif

but not Shame Martin... sorry to the other poster. On a par with the snake to me... maybe because I joined the scene in the 80's? Is that a sign of those times?

One I'm having an illict affair with once more is The Ambers 'I love You, Baby' (Verve) that intro - it's gotta be up there in the top ten of intro's of all time......

Isley Brothers - Behind A Painted Smile.

It was played this week on radio 2, and it sounded superb. I'd not heard it for too long, and have been making up for lost time. thumbsup.gif

cant stop playing TAMS - SILLY LITTLE GIRL at the moment yet never used to like it , love it now though !

Swifty

Yesterday I was digging in an old box I'd not been in for at least a year, maybe two, and just stuck records on in the order they were in the box,

(trying not to look at the label, so each one would be a surprise) and the most pleasant surprise of them all was the tune that I've been singing all day.

The Adventurers - Something Bad ( Is Happening ) BLUE ROCK.

as one side of a double header it was an ever present in my playbox back in the Wheatsheaf era between Wigan & Stafford, I always thought of it as a companion record to The Ascots - Another Day, similar sounding, classy, soulful, quality. Perhaps they were next to each other in the 'A' section of the playbox in the 80's?

I honestly can't believe how I could have left this gem alone for so long. The constant pursuit of new, fresh tunes will sadly always leave casualties.

(the flipside always reminded me of The Victors, wonder if there's a connection?)

I'd put that in this category. Heard it, and then heard it afresh some more.

Every Beat Of My Heart - The Du-etts
