Sorry for being picky , but are we talking a " Motown Top 500 Records " listing ? if so , surely " RH " cannot be included .

This is one that escaped my attention - The Jackson 5 " Just a Little Misunderstanding " : anyone got a sound file ?

:hatsoff2: HI Malc you are so right to mention JJ, I can see Dave Godin Turning in his grave? Remember the Blues & Soul Article about Motown and its ownership of Goldern World?

It's already done(2006). I held back on it until the market picks up.

Kev

Dont quite understand what the hold up on the 'market' is Kev, surely Motown would be an even better commercial bet than the Northern 500, after all many people who have never been near a Northern All-Niter know a lot of the tracks listed on this thread?thumbsup.gif

Kev

To me last year during the 50th celebrations may have sounded a good idea, but would it have lost sales owing to the amount of other 50th stuff being issued ?

I will buy one whenever Kev, and if you do not mind me asking, what basis has been used to place titles in order? and are unreleased tracks included ?

Looking forward to a good read.

Will you be at Glanford Park next Wednesday?. I am looking back over my shoulder at the moment.

For me it would have to be every track on Edwin Starr's 25 miles album. Seriously they are all cranking songs. 24 hours to find my baby and his version of he who picks a rose are two of the best dancers i've heard for a long time. T BONE. OZ. K.T.F.

The basis of the book takes into account the all time great club plays ie The Elgins, Isleys-This Old.... with Northern winners Suspicion etc.

I have the final 'definitive Northern Soul Top 500' to come first, as people have bought into that brand.

A decision on the Motown one will be taken later this year.

As for Glandford Park......what is it?

Cheers,

KR

Hi Kev,

Glanford Park is the home of Scunthorpe United, who just happen to be playing your lot in a relegation battle next Wednesday.

Thanks for the answer on the book.

I used to be able to rattle off all 92 grounds....back in the day. Scunthorpe were non league then weren't they?!

Joined the League in 1950 so you must be a bit older than I thought !!!

Moved from The Old Show Ground in 1988.

Go on . . . . . . I'll still buy the book!!

Thanks for the interest. Seriously though, I will decide on which comes first later this year. The NS Top 500 did very well and has been out of print for 2 years, so my distributor is banging on the door for a re-print or new version. As we have pretty much come full circle, I want to complete the 'definitive' version and leave it at that.
