Circles Used to hammer this at the compass club whitley bay was a big club tune in its day..stil great inmho

God there is so many superb modern tunes out there that im hard pushed to say what my faves are but ones ive seen conducted live that have changed how i percieved a song or even artist for the better would be

I can understand it - Bobby Womack in leeds circa 1990 terrfic (used to hate that before that night)

Glenn Jones Stay - Southport

David Sea - almost all of his set in the soul room Southport (loved them but hey the tunes got better)

And dare I say - Lance Ellington Especially when he sang Pleasure and pain Southport saturday afternoon .....Outstanding

Oh Jean Carne and Wil downing Now that was a performance

This track hit me right between the eyes when I first heard it at the Casino. Had me rushing to the decks to see who it was I'd always been a fan of the Hot Wax/Invictus lables so I thought it might be Honey Cone or Laura Lee. Totaly suprised to learn that HDH had another lable in the states and it was a young lady called Eloise Laws managed to snag a copy about a year later for £6.00 at the Ritz and it will always be my top ever 'modern anthem'

Incidently the record that followed it at the Casino that night was Fantastic Johnny C Don't depend on me got to be another anthem

Guess this was all around 74-75

When did the 1st Modern records creep into playlists

Is this list nearing 500 yet?

Can't wait to see it in it's entireity.

Being a person who loves all styles and eras of Modern Soul - its reassuring seeing them all sitting next to each other and it could/should go down in history methinks....yes.gif
