Guest WPaulVanDyk Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 quite difficult to pick but i would go for 1966 or what was the year Sugar dumpling was released i mean faster version as oposed to original.
billb Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 1966 was a very good year! music was good too!
Guest posstot Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 I'd say either 62' or 63'....as a leaning to the early soul/RnB. Yet i love later 60's too, so i'm ummin' and R'in for a 65, to get a good spectrum. ALRIGHT>>>> 1964.

Epic Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 Nobody has mentioned a disco year yet The people who would mention the seventies (wash your mouth out) are all out at work. The ones who have mentioned the early sixties have just had a visit from their grandchildren (Xmas holidays) & they have helped them post on this thread. PS - This very tongue in cheek - I wish all soulies a very Merry Xmas. BTW 1974 !!!!!
Cunnie Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 Nobody has mentioned a disco year yet Every year's a disco year ain't it Anyway looking back I'd say 1979 but on a positive note it's gotta be 2010
JOHNNYBETCHA Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 1966 without a shadow of a doubt - many of the best records of any genre were recorded in this year!
Roger Williams Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 1938..... Didn't know you were a fan of r&b, Brett? 1981 for me, no question.

Guest Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 Talking of numbers on records (i.e. The date) l was on a bus travelling home from Wigan with my two mates......"Have you ever noticed how most Northern Soul Records are recorded after dinner?" one of them said "What do you mean, how do you know?" l asked.....He showed me a record (could have been Herbie Hunter but l might be wrong) and said "Look,Time-2.25" pointing at the label.....Me and my other mate looked at each other and before any of us could say anything he commented "Except The Bottle....which was made at tea-time!" Priceless ...... Malc Burton
