Milton Wright - I Belong To You

I came across 3 45s yesterday

Wakefield Sun - Trypt On Love - the booted copy on blue vinyl

Frankie & Johnny - I'll Hold You - a close boot with the six turn run out groove

and

Milton Wright - I Belong To You on Satiron

was the Milton Wright booted ?

I would think the copy I have is a boot as it was with the other 2 but am unsure.............any one advise if booted and if so differences to the original.

If I'm right (and I have been known to be COMPLETELY wrong) Milton Wright - I Belong To You is unreleased.

The copies (1 of which you have) John Anderson had cut from a master tape.

No, you're right, there is no "original" of Milton Wright.

I still think that's a "boot", but it is arguable, and I'm only basing it upon seeming to recall seeing lots of these around at the same time. My memory isn't too reliable though. Wouldn't the OVO be Grapevine (GRP 103)? Intersting point.

Would depend on which came 1st....boot or vine perfer the instrumental myself

No not a Boot,this was a legal 45 put out by John A at Soul Bowl and the owner of the song Ollie McLaughlin,although it was aimed to cash in on the Northern Soul market at that time in the mid to late 70s,

Thanks Dave, happy to be corrected. I think at the time we were flooded by so may "boots" I made presumptions some were that weren't.

I don`t think John A did,most proberly something to do with Ollie McLaughlin,i`d imagine John told him what he was looking for ie:the vocal and left it up to Ollie to sort out a singer he knew to do it,like i said made and pressed up for the Northern scene at the time,we all would like to think it was an unissued 60s track that was put out but i doubt it ,shame John can`t give us the full story maybe Steve G knows more about it?,well that`s my take on it

The Happy Cats was also around at the same time on Grapevine with "These boots...", which contained the unreleased "Destroy that boy" on the other side.

And as far as i'm aware was also from Ollie McClaughlin's vaults. The original of "Boots" was released on Omack, which was one of his labels or he had some connection with?

I have listened to a lot of different Milton Wright tracks and it sounds like his voice on "I Belong To You"

As far as I remember Milton Wright himself confirmed he recorded both tracks back in the 60s but they remained unreleased until late 70s.

I think THE GALLOP is the proper one on CARLA. I recall the vocal was on the Grapevine 45s released by RCA in the 70's with The Gallop on the flip. Never seen a vocal other than that....

its not a boot but it was issued by john anderson with ollie macs permission as a promo only a month b4 it surfaced on grapevine but other than that the vocal to rollin stone was unreleased
