Guest colouringin Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 (edited) I'm not sure how to classify these but I think they're both very good. Best to take a listen by clicking on the name of the record. These are lesser known to my knowledge (which can be limited) but after trying to find further copies for almost a year, this is it... Please email callumflack at gmail dot com rather than PMing. Flip Dip "It Could Be More Beautiful Than Life / Tomorrow" (Fada) M- $250 Moore Brothers "A Salute To Roots / (Instrumental)" (AMG) M- $175 Edited December 6, 2009 by colouringin
John Reed Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 I'm assuming the Richard Flowers credits on the FLIP-DIP is the same Richard Flowers of For Real/We can Make It Happen fame?
Garethx Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 I'm assuming the Richard Flowers credits on the FLIP-DIP is the same Richard Flowers of For Real/We can Make It Happen fame? Yes. the same guy. The vocal on the "More Beautiful Than Life" is noticeably the same singer as on "For Real". Lately I've been interested in a few of these "black soft rock" type records. I realise they're not to everyone's taste but I think "Tomorrow" is a beautifully crafted record with an identity all of its own. The key change into the saxophone solo is great.
Guest colouringin Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Hey thanks for the info. Didn't make the connection to For Real, but I can certainly hear it now that you mention it. Wasn't sure how many people knew the Flip Dip. I definitely have my own clean copy, think it's a beauty.
