Thanks to everyone who has paid a deposit for the forthcoming book NORTHERN SOUL STORIES.

Due to me changing my mind some of the contents got changed at the last minute, and as a result it went to the printers later than planned.

Everyone who has pre-ordered a copy for Christmas - copies will be sent out ROYAL MAIL SPECIAL DELIVERY on Friday December 18. When they send out special delivery on a Friday the Post Office do not guarantee Saturday delivery but most of the time they do arrive on the Sat...if not will be delivered on Monday December 21. All parcels will have their own tracking number, so will not go missing in tranist.

Will be sending out e-mail early next week to those who have reserved their copies confirming this,and the soulvation web site (www.soulvation.biz) will be changed at same time to accept the balance due from credit card/debit card payments.

If you are paying PayPal to PayPal then you can if you wish make the payment of the balance without going via the web site, simply make payment to

The hardbacks are 29.99 plus 5.00 contribution to postage and packing, so if you have paid 10 deposit, balance due is 24.99 per book.

The (very posh) de-luxe softbacks are 19.99 plus 5.00 contribution to postage and packing, so if you have paid 10 deposit,balance due is 14.99 per book.

If you haven't ordered yet and wish to do so there is no problem getting you the books in time for Christmas presents,as all orders will be sent Royal Mail special delivery and the Post Office is guaranteeing orders can go out as late as December 23 and will be there the next day.

The books are full colour, 256 pages, and Glenn Gunton at Joe Boy has done a fantastic job with the graphics to go with the interviews.

The first 500 hardbacks are numbered and come with exclusive seven inch single - "Trust In Me" - Jackie Ross/ "Lucky Lucky Me" - Marvin Gaye. They are in stock now and look and sound great, and am well pleased to have a single with a Chess reording on one side and Motown on the other, courtesy of Expansion and Universal.The hardbacks will also have a memorabilia pack with cards replicating some of the best artwork from the book, aimed at those who like to frame Soul artwork and put it on their walls.Hardback edition will only be on sale from me..it is definitely a nice collectors item..

The stories in the title start off with a quote from Chris Hill about Ray Chrles in 1960 and finish with the Chuck Jackson show at Prestatyn in October 2009. in between lots of surreal and detailed stuff (when was FA Cup hat trick hero Stan Mortensen last part of a Rare Soul book?!)
