Just found this Freddie Scott clip from 2006 live at BB Kings singing Hey Girl.. Wow, when he goes for it the voice is really still there..

Hope youtube clips are fine to post.. If not then let me know..

Just wanted to share some soul after the news of another Soul Man ( Alan Pollard ) passing away..

Soul indeed..

So much great stuff by Freddie Scott..

The flip to I'll be gone is a sweet tune too, never did turn it over before Wayne Dearman played it at Soul Or Nothing..

Also " where does love go ".. " Am i groovin you " ( Thanks to Karl Heard for this )...

" Mr Heartache " would be happy if that was the last record i heard on this earth... A soul ballad of the highest order in my book..

Also does a great version of open the doors to you heart imo..

And much more..

Freddie Scott is the real deal for me..

Thanks for reply mate..

take care

Steve

Bloody hell, great find Stevie/Chalky, awesome singer and he still has it unlike so many from that area, I am totally gobsmacked.

Cmon Mr Croasdell with a current Kent CD (which is awesome by the way, cannot believe its not been mentioned before) and singing like this, Cleethorpes and Freddie are just fate waiting to happen.

ADY ARE YOU LISTENING!!!

Sheer jaw dropping brilliance, and singing ballads brilliantly, please take note weekender promoters!!

Aww shit, haven't read the sleeve notes to CD yet, always need to save an evening in on my own to concentrate on those Kent notes.

He still had it didn't he, even more poignant then!!

Of to put a clip in the 6ts soul one, even though I should be leaving for work!

You're right Jock. Extremely poignant.

What we missed out on eh!

What struck me about the clip is how much respect Carlton (who I'm a bit of a fan of) paid to Freddie (the old Master) and that the performance seemed so natural and impromptu.

Total Quality.

Hope you're well matey.

Sean
