Guest Markthecabbie Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 (edited) ...or anyone else who can help? Just got back from Hunstanton,my first Northern Soul weekender. Was invited along by Little Reg and had a blast. And boy! Some of those dancers!! There were 2 or 3 tracks that you played on Saturday night in the Sundowner that I wanted to find out about, hung around to try and collar you but no joy :-( One was called something like get skanking, quite a quirky rhythm to it. Managed to find out the second,Catch A Teardrop-5 Royales. The third was the one I really liked, think it's an old reggae record, maybe the Backstop or Backslot??,thought you mentioned Derrick Harriott but couldnt be sure. Hope you or someone else can help? All the best Mark Edited November 30, 2009 by Markthecabbie

Guest Markthecabbie Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 Thanks to all for the replies, and I knew it was ska,got a bit sloppy in my haste to find out what it was.Was so unusual to hear that flavour at a NS do...didn't faze some of the dancers though. And Yocky made a comment after that led me to believe it is a controversial record on the scene? Again, thanks for the prompt replies Mark
