Please can some promoter do a reunion there please...just like Dave T's 25 year Stafford do then my life would be complete and I could die happy!

I'm not joking either...come on Mr Promoter...and you'd make a fortune to boot!

There was one a few years back, late 90s i think. It was brilliant! Dedicated to Mudd and Tommo.

It's remotely possible he could be saying

"Ladies & Gentlemen, take your partners for the next dance"

our paths must have crossed several times in the early days. I lost my first job not going back to work after the lunch-time sessions at the Spinning Disc. great days..remember the Three Coins though was just too young, had to be content with the BeeGee and several cool coffee bars in the vicinity. La Conc , Del Rio and Lulu's and a few others.

Besides the Saturday afternoon sessions , The Spinning Disc ( better known as The Old Mecca ) also held highly successful and well attended , lunchtime sessions during the week . These started at noon and finshed at 2 PM ( think it cost 6d to get in ) . It was a rarity for me not to be there on a lunchtime ( I preferred to go to The Old Mecca in my lunch hour , rather than spend it eating or playing cards with the lads I worked with ) , and I was always late back to work , leaving it to the last minute before I left and had to run back to work . Thankfully I only worked nearby on the corner of Boar Lane and Lower Briggate in / at Alexandre's the Tailors .

It is very likely that our paths would have crossed in those halcyon days in Leeds .

Spending your teenage years there meant an obligation to frequent the establishments you have named

As you will recall , there was also the Tropica Coffee Bar off Boar Lane, The Carousel opposite the Tower Cinema , and the La Staega Coffee Bar on Fish Street . I think the La Strega is still there .
