Guest Posted April 29, 2004 Posted April 29, 2004 There are some bloody fantastic records out there that sound great but when you try and bop to them they are a nightmare.Problem is I only realise when it is too late! I admit to being a bit of a plodder nowadays, and these are just 3 that come to mind... 1.Admirations:You left me 2.Saints:I'll let you slide 3.Ascots:-Few feet from the gutter 1+2 Deceptivley fast... 3 Brilliant off-beat drum is a dancefloor killer!
Guest in town Mikey Posted April 30, 2004 Posted April 30, 2004 I always find Melba Moore - Magic Touch, at least uncomfortable if not impossible to dance to. Talking of dancing a funny exchange at the Dome once. Simon Herridge asked he how I was after I had an operation. 'Fine' I said, 'just finished having a dance and it was great.' 'I will have to have that op then,' said Simon, 'cos you couldn't bloody dance before!!'
Jodie Posted April 30, 2004 Posted April 30, 2004 The Chandlers - Your Love Makes Me Lonely Love the record but I always feel a bit embarrassed at that waltzy bit in the middle, never know what to do with myself Might learn to tap dance.... Jodie
Woolie2003 Posted April 30, 2004 Posted April 30, 2004 I hate the beginning of Harold Melvin - Get Out. Love the track, just hate the slow intro!!! Steve Eastbourne
Gene-r Posted April 30, 2004 Posted April 30, 2004 What about "Fear Not" by the Legends? Can never tell if it's supposed to be an uptempo dancer or a soul ballad! Interesting one....... Gene
Guest LeoLyxxx Posted May 4, 2004 Posted May 4, 2004 Embers "where did i go wrong" *a bit too fast... at least for me.. Soul Belnders "tightrope" *has nothing to do with the tempo, just to bad to dance to... best Leo
Jodie Posted May 4, 2004 Posted May 4, 2004 The Chandlers - Your Love Makes Me Lonely Love the record but I always feel a bit embarrassed at that waltzy bit in the middle, never know what to do with myself Might learn to tap dance.... Jodie Bloody Hell it got me!! Got up to dance to it at the Marrs Bar on Saturday.. Totally forgot that I had posted this, Mick didn't though thought it was very funny to nudge people and point at me when the waltzy bit kicked in!! DOH! Jodie xx
Guest SteveC Posted May 4, 2004 Posted May 4, 2004 One thats on my permanent playlist at the moment is Gloria Taylor's Total Disaster. Top tune but difficult to dance to.
Simon T Posted May 4, 2004 Posted May 4, 2004 Royal Robins - 'Something about you that sends me'.... is it possible to dance to this?
Guest Posted May 11, 2004 Posted May 11, 2004 Fast, how about COD's - She's Fire. Now that's fast ;-)
Guest SteveC Posted May 11, 2004 Posted May 11, 2004 Fast, how about COD's - She's Fire. Now that's fast ;-) No probs dancing to that one sweetie!! Knackered afterwards mind, but just about capable........still!
Gene-r Posted May 11, 2004 Posted May 11, 2004 Much as I love "Mystery" by Jimmy Armstrong, do you think I can bloody dance to it anymore without the possible use of a pacemaker?? Gene
Tony Smith Posted May 12, 2004 Posted May 12, 2004 Much as I love "Mystery" by Jimmy Armstrong, do you think I can bloody dance to it anymore without the possible use of a pacemaker?? Gene You can't dance anyway! You're just using Mystery as an excuse.
Ady Croasdell Posted May 12, 2004 Posted May 12, 2004 Funnily enough, I only just discovered 'The Drifter' is a bit of a dancefloor disaster for my "Bambi on ice" legs. Speaking of which if you check out Gene's photos you'll see me trying to twist to Carol & Gerri in my gardening jumper and dad's trousers. That geezer who doesn't like the intro to 'Get Out' has got it wrong. It's the easiest bit. Ady
Guest Posted May 12, 2004 Posted May 12, 2004 Bambi LOL, shall be inspecting your legs tomorrow night down at TOS
Supercorsa Posted May 12, 2004 Posted May 12, 2004 Funnily enough, I only just discovered 'The Drifter' is a bit of a dancefloor disaster for my "Bambi on ice" legs. Ady I knew watching you dance at SITC reminded me of something. ;-)
Guest Posted May 12, 2004 Posted May 12, 2004 "my Bambi on ice" legs. you'd better watch out for Thumper lol
Ady Croasdell Posted May 13, 2004 Posted May 13, 2004 That brings tears to my eyes, though you can't tell with those glasses on. Ady
Gene-r Posted May 13, 2004 Posted May 13, 2004 Ere - I'll have you know that I won first prize in a rock n'roll dance contest in our local pub last night......... ....and I only got up to go to the loo!!!
Tony Smith Posted May 13, 2004 Posted May 13, 2004 Ere - I'll have you know that I won first prize in a rock n'roll dance contest in our local pub last night......... ....and I only got up to go to the loo!!! That sounds about right!
Gene-r Posted May 13, 2004 Posted May 13, 2004 Actually Tone, is there any truth in the rumour that you won 2nd prize in a Brad Pitt lookalike competition? Apparently, the 1st prize went to a coloured fellow!! (not it wasn't me, honest!!!) :-)
Tony Smith Posted May 13, 2004 Posted May 13, 2004 Actually Tone, is there any truth in the rumour that you won 2nd prize in a Brad Pitt lookalike competition? Apparently, the 1st prize went to a coloured fellow!! (not it wasn't me, honest!!!) :-) No truth at all!, it was a Gene R. look-alike compo!
Guest Andy BB Posted May 13, 2004 Posted May 13, 2004 Barbara Lynn - I'm a good Woman For those I'd better look at my feet for a bit til she starts again, oh should I leave the floor, oh no I'll look stupid, pauses Tony Clarke - (They call me) A wrong man. Buggered if I can follow that one on the dancefloor despite its brilliance. Alas it never stops me trying and then instantly regretting it.
Gene-r Posted May 13, 2004 Posted May 13, 2004 Hehehehehe!!!!! :-) You must have been well chuffed to be a 2nd place lookalike of me Tone!!
Guest in town Mikey Posted May 13, 2004 Posted May 13, 2004 Think yourself lucky Andy. I try looking at my feet all the time when I'm dancing. All I see is the portable beer store strapped where my waist used to be. I'd like to add Quicksand to this. The record not the stinky sinky stuff.#
Tony Smith Posted May 13, 2004 Posted May 13, 2004 Hehehehehe!!!!! :-) You must have been well chuffed to be a 2nd place lookalike of me Tone!! Relieved more like!, should've seen the girl who won!
Guest Andy BB Posted May 13, 2004 Posted May 13, 2004 Mikey. Come to These Old Shoes tonight and I'll cure that for you. What you do is stand at the top of the dancefloor facing the decks - The gradient then ensures that your feet are about 45 degrees higher up than your body. Hey presto, shoe-gazing!
Guest in town Mikey Posted May 13, 2004 Posted May 13, 2004 Shh I think I might be going. I keep saying I will go places and get sidetracked. So I say I am probably going tonight, so see you after the 6-a-side footy, and the swift drink with my workmates. I used to call the dancefloor there Sue, after an old girlfriend who always had the hump ;-) I'll, ONCE AGAIN, get my coat.
Guest Posted May 15, 2004 Posted May 15, 2004 just get on the floor and do your own thing ,worrie about the hip replacement when your in your 60's
