Two Wigan Casino bricks from the home of Northern Soul for sale, both bricks are in nice condition no cement residue, some minor chips and marks but they are around a 100 years old, authentic and original, these bricks are taken from the main entrance area of the Casino, ideal Christmas present for the serious collector, if bricks could tell a story these two must have a million between them, would sit well with all the badges, clocks, mugs and other retro nostaligia collectables, would rather sell as a pair but would consider spliting so two people can reap the joy of owing a bit of history, serious offers for the pair or single bricks welcome.

Regards - Mark Bicknell.

I RECKON THE LEFT ONES A BOOTLEG BRICK g.gif

If you knew your bricks Phil like you do the records then your comment is totally untrue and without foundation infacct although these two bricks are taken from the entrance area of the Casino they are infact taken from the very foundation of the building so they are both original and authentic so there.

They look the wrong shade of red to be originals and they used lime mortar in the days gone by and it looks like there is no lime traces plus they look metric and not imperial but if you could tell me what is written in the frog it could clear up any unceartainty in relation to their aunthenticity biggrin.gif

As a Leeds Utd fan ..i take offence to that laugh.gif

Just a thought Mark ...this post is about to get swamped ,it might be a idea to lock it before it gets to the stage g.gif

some of the older members might get too hysterical and wet themselvesbiggrin.gif

I remember back in the day when you could get bricks like that of Wickes front page for £1.25. Of course I bought a copy of every brick that was for sale at that price at the time.

Also, I'm sure the Mecca laid bricks before the Casino, although my favourite bricks were on the pier at Cleethorpes................................................................................

These are pretty rare items

None on popsike

Never seen on e-bay

Pretty sure never seen on Manships auction.

Once saw one on the telly smile.gif

Is there a reserve?

The interest on these bricks has been huge since the post started a few minutes ago, had three bids already with the top one being £111.00 not met the reserve yet still along way to go but it's early days yet.

Auction now closed as the bricks have been sold to a private collector, final price £717.00 plus postage, big thanks to all the bidders and interest here, better luck next time, the proceeds of this sale is going towards the development of Northern Soul Monopoly which should be in production by next Christmas,

well hopefully he wont decide to mount them on a specially designed plinth at home and sit and admire them--It would be nice if he shares them with the wider soul family and brings them out with him ..........
