Mick Sway Posted September 16, 2012 Author Posted September 16, 2012 Did a name check on this thread and it returned negative so I'm gonna give a big shout out for The California Playboys "Trying to become a Millionaire" on Loadstone. What a cracking album only 6 tracks but if my memory served me right Butch or Sam used to fill the floor with the title track. I still love it to this day 5.48 minutes of quality soul dance heaven. Spun it a few times over the years while out but never had the same effect. Check out Double Love and "she's a real sweet woman " too name a couple more tracks. A quality soul album with rarity thrown in. It's never turned up in quantity or even handfuls, but the title track is a killer. TMIB Nice: Was this released as a 45: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWxwdjkzOTo

Robbk Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 The Metros - Sweetest One RCA Victor album holds of course their brilliant version of 'I'll Never Forget You' but the hidden gem of the album is 'I'm With You All The Way' certainly an album only track this punchy Pied Piper production has yet to have it's day on the scene, awesome track that simply has it all. Regards - Mark Bicknell. I like "Egyptian Love" best from that LP.

Guest Mrs M Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 What about 'You Know The Score' - Willie and The Mighty Magnificents Isn't this Lp track only and the album itself is as rare as hen's teeth too? I remember this being a play of either Alex Jones or Phil Wainwright late 8t's. Alex if my memory serves me!
