Jodie Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 Hi, If anyone can give me any info about this I would appreciate it. I know there is a soundbite on Manship's rarest of the rare section but i've never heard it played out. anyone know how many copies there are and a approximate price? Jodie
Guest Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 bought this off Adey Pierce , mid 90's...£25. It ain't bad, but nothing to get worked up about, imo

Guest Posted April 27, 2004 Posted April 27, 2004 not that rare todays market £125 to £150 record has yet to take of but will have its day. mick
Guest Posted April 27, 2004 Posted April 27, 2004 Is Northern Soul really that hard up for 'new' sounds that it will pay up to the £200 being asked by Manship for what is really a pleasant but very mediocre track. It has no tune to speak of, no chorus and not much of a beat either. Why?
Guest Posted April 27, 2004 Posted April 27, 2004 sorry Jodie , got shot of it years ago. Mind you I wish I still had it, if it's now worth £200!!!

Jodie I see that's the same Uptown as Gloria Jones, but does anybody know about another Uptown label? I am interested in Ducky & the Glowlighters. Who was Ducky and how rare is the record?

Guest Posted April 28, 2004 Posted April 28, 2004 This is out of Philly' part of the Jamie/Guyden set up. Had this early 90's, very rare but too fast imo. Sold my copy to Tim Brown for £500, about a year later it went for£1,000.
Guest Posted April 29, 2004 Posted April 29, 2004 As we're talking about the Sugar Lumps, just pulled out; "I can't fight it" on Virgil.Good uptempo northern soul out of New Orleans. White Cliffs pub, with a nice mid-tempo flip. Got to be easily as rare as the Swan effort and a better record imo
