Growing up in Mow Cop I took my driving test in Congleton - in 1967, and passed

Went to my first All-Nighter at the Wheel in 1965 but I've not exactly been around the scene all that time, just one or two nights out each year for the past ten years or more.

Off to Padiham Town Hall tonight tho

Blimey thats a record in itself Frankthumbup.gif bet you were the only one from Mow Cop who went the wheel? There were a couple (two brothers?) from Scholar Green that went circa 68-70?

Just got off the phone after talking with my old mate--Les Alderson ,and sad to say his health is not too good and to all intents and purposes--"the longest attendee on the scene" is calling it a day, he did confirm that his first "nighter"(or as he says they were called "throughers" in them days) was Feb 1959 at the old Flamingo in Soho.He says his fave club off all time was The Scene(Ham Yard/Great Windmill St.)followed closely by Va.Va,s,Stafford,100 Club, and Wigan Casino (altho he says he used to attend nighters in Wigan in the Mid to late 60,s,but he can,t remember the club,s name.

Enjoy,Les
