Ady Croasdell Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Bob & Harold Joe Mathews (sic) Caesar Frazier's Till Another Day Any nice LP dance tracks I may have missed?
Jim Elliott Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 'Long live the king' from the 'Do me right' album....Detroit Emeralds, catchy as a catchy thing. Jim
Ady Croasdell Posted October 26, 2009 Author Posted October 26, 2009 Thanks Jim, I'd forgotten that one but it might not make the cut I put it on a DE greatest hits CD
phillyDaveG Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 The Caesar Frazier was released on the LP below (including the great "Got to have your love"), don't know about a 45 though; Caesar Frazier "ANOTHER LIFE" (1978 WESTBOUND)(Prod. Caesar Frazier & Bernie Mendelson) Best tracks - "Another life"/"Till another day"/"I got to have your love"/"Just a little bit longer"
Wrongcrowd Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 'Long live the king' from the 'Do me right' album....Detroit Emeralds, catchy as a catchy thing. Jim Also released in UK on a Phongram promo 45 EP.....
Wrongcrowd Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 Bob & Harold Joe Mathews (sic) Caesar Frazier's Till Another Day Any nice LP dance tracks I may have missed? You might want to consider Donald "Crazy Legs" Austin - You Want It, You Got It, from the '73 Eastbound album EB 9005.....big tune at Cleethorpes/St. Ives during the mid 70's....
Sean Hampsey Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 Any nice LP dance tracks I may have missed? Jimmy Scott, we've already discussed. Triffic midtempo! Also, Ady, have you considered "Till You Decide To Come Home" Detroit Emeralds? Always a fave at my house! Sean
Ady Croasdell Posted October 28, 2009 Author Posted October 28, 2009 Also released in UK on a Phongram promo 45 EP..... That's right, I'd forgotten about that.

Davetay Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 You might want to consider Donald "Crazy Legs" Austin - You Want It, You Got It, from the '73 Eastbound album EB 9005.....big tune at Cleethorpes/St. Ives during the mid 70's.... I think it was big everywhere at that time, covered up as the New York Strings at one time.
Ady Croasdell Posted October 28, 2009 Author Posted October 28, 2009 I think it was big everywhere at that time, covered up as the New York Strings at one time. OOya! I'm afraid it's not made the cut, it must have sounded OK at Cleethorpes full of pills but like me it hasn't worn well!
Ady Croasdell Posted October 28, 2009 Author Posted October 28, 2009 Fantastic Four - I'm Falling In Love Nearly made it but as it's on the ols Westbound groups CD, I went for I Got To Have Your Love.
jocko Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 Magictones - Happy Days, ol man Santucci spin, and a rather spiffing one too!
Ady Croasdell Posted October 28, 2009 Author Posted October 28, 2009 Anyone got the Eddie Hill I Am So Thankful? Come on you Detroit collectors, that and the Joe Mathews are elusive, did they come out?
Garethx Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 I'm quite a fan of Melvin Sparks' "Git Ya Some" but have to admit it won't be to everyone's taste.

Guest Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 Spanky Wilson - Non Stop Flight . Love it personally but going by the reaction when I played it out I might be the only one who does
Jim Elliott Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 (edited) Spanky Wilson , 'Easy lover'... Smoooth. Forgot about that, from the album 'Speciality of the house'. Long live the Orwell. Jim Edited October 28, 2009 by Jim Elliott

Ady Croasdell Posted October 29, 2009 Author Posted October 29, 2009 Thanks chaps, particularly the Cobblers Posse but they're all that little bit too Jazz Funk for this comp, perhaps we can do a follow up in that vein. It looks like the Bob & Harold, Joe Mathews and Eddie Hill might be unissued then despite having a label number.
Guest marco Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Bob & Harold Joe Mathews (sic) Caesar Frazier's Till Another Day Any nice LP dance tracks I may have missed? Ceasar Frazier - Another Life off the LP of the same name Ady. Could be a bit too funky for you tho!
Steve G Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Ohio Players - 'I Wanna' Hear From You' - Wesbound also a nice funk track: Robert Lowe - 'Put Your Legs Up High' - Eastbound Quite right Val.
Kev Moore Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Quite right Val. Ady for a good 70's stomper, (but might be a bit on the disco side) Carlos Munro 'Plain Brown Wrapper' from the 'I Was Made For Love' album. Just a thought Kev
Ady Croasdell Posted October 30, 2009 Author Posted October 30, 2009 Ady for a good 70's stomper, (but might be a bit on the disco side) Carlos Munro 'Plain Brown Wrapper' from the 'I Was Made For Love' album. Just a thought Kev I'll check it out Kev, thanks. The one of his Dave Thorley used to play is a bit too electronic for this CD.
