Great soul record i remember giving spins over the years at the "Canal Tavern" Thorne (Dearlove days)

Modern/crossover nights, "Arties Mill" Modern nights Brigg" and at "Yarmuff" in the collectors sessions.

Another "Black Knight" purchase, £80 (back in the 90's) not an easy record to find these days but pure

quality, Mines on the red TAM-BOO label 6719 writen by SILVERS. Was not aware of other label colour.

Good luck finding a copy as should be in all good collections:thumbup:

Hi Guys

Chuck Ray used to be a frequent give away in Soul Bowl soul packs nobody wanted it, it was deemed too slow at the time.

It wasn't until crossover became popular and as Rick Scott mentions it received spins at Thorne it gained any value.

The other side "Come Alive" Came out on another Chicago label Five-O with a rather dubious funk flip I.M.O

It still baffles me why this is regarded as a £300-£400 record.ohmy.gif

couple months ago I sold my copy for £400, then bought it back at £200 from the same guy, he got a White one, demo that is, and now chuck is back sitting next to Ray Hines in the racks...and I'm a very happy man for it.. !! Laughsthumbup.gif
