Don't know much about Calvin Williams, only found out he'd done it last week but also done by Johnnie Mae Matthews on Art & Jam. The backing track was also used on the Platters Going Back To Detroit on UK Pye.

First came out on Northern Del La then picked up for national release by Atco.

Both sides are great "It Won't Matter At All being a bit slower than "lonely You'll Be" but both excellent tracks.

It used to be about £15 on Atco but copies seam to have dried up and I have seen it go for a lot more.

Sold a copy of Calvin williams on an mint Atco demo a while back for about $80 if memory serves, intriguing that it was released on JMM's Northern De La label & the credits show 'matthews' as a one of the producers, so was the Calvin Wiliams version the original later covered by JMM or visa versa?...btw top tune & one I wish I'd never let go...amongst many others.

I prefer the JMM version

Is is it me or do the releases on JAM & Atco sound slightly different to each other ?

I love this tune thumbup.gif

Have it by Johnnie Mae on Jam, Art and an Atco promo, by Calvin on Northern Del-La, and also have the Platters' Going Back to Detroit on the USA LP and the UK PYE 45 release.

Still need Calvin on Atco and Johnnie Mae on the Atco issue.

Cheers
