Best Russ I assume you don't mean the Syl Johnson track that uses the same backing track?
Russ Vickers Posted October 22, 2009 Author Posted October 22, 2009 I assume you don't mean the Syl Johnson track that uses the same backing track? No Steve, have this niggly feeling somebody mentioned to me there were two release numbers & they were different mixes.........i could of course have imagined the whole thing !!! Russ
pikeys dog Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 without checking I thought it was on three different labels, two of which were the same mix. but then again it could be the swine flu messing with my head.
Garethx Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 There are two different mixes on the same number. Opinion was that there might even be a different vocalist on the 'other' version. The variant version is very rare but does exist: there's a topic here on it somewhere and soundfiles were posted. For me personally the Syl Johnson Japanese lp cut using the same backing track is an even better record.

Just checked the discography for Twilght/Twinight & has only got the one release number, maybe the demo is different to the issue mix, can you elaborate on the 3 labels pse & which mix is which ????. JM's only mentions the 156 release number. Thank you Cheers Russ Edited October 22, 2009 by Russ Vickers
John Reed Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 There was a recent Pvine CD of Twinight stuff, which has Nate Evans on it. Maybe its an alternate mix?

Garethx Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 Aha. Thanks for refreshing our memories about this Bob. So the last theory was that it was possibly writer Earl Randle's guide vocal pressed as the regular Nate Evans single. Listening to the soundfile again I have to say I prefer it to the more common Nate Evans version.

Russ Vickers Posted October 22, 2009 Author Posted October 22, 2009 Thanks for that Bob.........very interesting indeed, must have missed this thread first time around. Thanks to all for thier help. Russ
