Guest Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Anyone care to comment ? hav'nt seen 1 myself so cant compare, but are the "re-issues" pressed on vinyl,as opposed to the orig pressed in styrene ? There was 1 up on ebay that finished on a rather bizarre price(for a "re-issue")of $36....and even more strangely it was from a new to ebay seller in the detroit region....apparently... Has the world gone insane or what ? About the only interest left in this disc would be the original, elusive demo copy, but only ever seen 1 anyway...who on SS has a copy ? Rob

Rob The boots are pressed on vinyl with, I think, a yellow DJ label. They were pressed a short while before all those copies were found at the start of 2000.

Rob I saw a Styrene DJ copy several years ago on USA ebay. It was in very bad condition and went cheap, but I wish I had bought it just for reference.

Raym Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 (edited) Here you go - left copy is the Boot (on Vinyl) and the Orig on the right on Styrene. sound clip below:- https://www.soul-sour...y-new-allrite-0 Double click on the photo to get a full screen shot. On the orig copy you can just see (make out) the heavy/deep machine ZTSC stamp in the run out grooves. I used to mad for this back in early 80's when Keb Darge used to play it! Picked up the bootleg then (originals were big bucks then) and finally got the original during 2000/01 when a shed load turned up. Cheers, Ray Mahoney Edited October 21, 2009 by Raym
Tabs Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Nice scans. The differences are very notable when you can compare side to side. Sebastian Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 Here you go - left copy is the Boot (on Vinyl) and the Orig on the right on Styrene. Another give-away is that the bootleg has got DISC JOCKEY and NOT FOR SALE on the label. The original issues doesn't. Perhaps it was booted from the elusive white demo copy and then printed on yellow paper?

Raym Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 nice scans would love to see a scan of the elusive white demo, who on SS has 1 ? Rob Yes, come on someone must have the white demo?
John A Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 Original demo's were also yellow..Ask Pottsy for a scan.
KevH Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 my guess is that when DM was elusive, out came the boots with a twist - dj copy!. About 200 originals were found weren't they?
Ady Potts Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 Original demo's were also yellow..Ask Pottsy for a scan. They were indeed
Raym Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 (edited) They were indeed Hi Pottsy, thanks for replying here to my earlier email (or did you get several after John suggested contacting you!?). So that settles it - no white Demos. Looks like the Bootleg was done off the yellow demo that you have put up here. I mentioned Keb Darge playing this but it was played earlier by Pat Brady 1984 at Stafford c/up as Leon Washington & Paris. I reckon the early few copies that turned up and were played by likes of Pat Brady and Keb Darge were the yellow demos and it was from one of these that the bootleg was done - thinking there were only a few demos about no issues. Then during 2000 a box load of Issues turn up and these seem to be the ones that come up for sale - looking at Popsike etc.. . The demos are proberbly still pretty rare and worth much more than the issues. Cheers, Ray (Pottsy do you fancy a trade of my MINTY looking Issue for your Demo - which looks like its got a slight bit of wear!! ) Edited October 22, 2009 by Raym
Dave Pinch Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 the demo boots were pressed up mid 90`s wer`nt they? certainly a couple or 3 years before the boxes of orig mint issues were found. not sure how many issues were found but more than 200 id say. its got to be the most turned up formerly rare record ever with only that thing on tuna givin it a run for its money dave
