Why are so few people - even amongst music lovers - in to our kind of soul music? Is there anything you can put your finger on that makes us love or hate it?
One thought from me.... There's a fairly well known psychological test called Myers Brigss that divides people into Thinkers and Feelers. In short, the test recognises that all people think (ie apply logical thinking to their decisions) and that all people feel (apply emotional thinking to their decisions), the difference is that for Thinkers the logic side is more dominant and for Feelers the emotional side is more dominant.
When I did the test I scored higher on the Feeling... As soul music is so much about feeling I wonder if the two could in any way be related....

If anyone else has done Myers Briggs, are you a Thinker or eeler? Any other theories on why people love or hate soul music?
Here's a thought to chew over....
