Had several ( non-soul) American hits. First one in 1961 when she was 16 years old.

Some of her records are Girl Group sounds - although she's a solo artist

She's white and American - probably Italian extraction

Had a tune huge at Wigan

I can answer yes/no questions

have we had dana valery yet?

Yeah - already had her. For the record, and as I didn't answer before, it's not any of these either:

Paula Durante,

Susan Farrar,

Rita Da Costa

Calleen Anderegg

Keep 'em coming though! biggrin.gif

Yeah, from Bradford.

However it's worth me mentioning that one of the mystery lady's US songs was covered by a girl from Leeds

Hits, Gary! Hits!

Right you lot. Stop just naming random white girl singers and read the clues - or ask more questions. Here's another clue for you (need to stop soon, I'm knackered).

Her last recording is the Northern one. It's from 1966 and unlike her first 45 is on a label with loads of Northern Soul tunes on it.
